Surprising gem in an area not known for, well, having any restaurants at all - a couple of fish and chippers. You'll walk into a well maintained premises with the lion statues and the hexagonal layout with individual sections, a lot of thought into it that you won't find in the average Chinese restaurant in Sydney. You might want to ask specifically to be seated in a more sunlit area, since some sections take advantage of that natural light. They serve yum cha but most of the Anglo Saxon community that I observed does not seem comfortable with picking off the available items and instead like to a la carte and the wait staff are already primed to cater for these types of requests for beer and specific fried foods, with some more fusion items catering for the non Asian crowd. The surprise is that the Asian dumplings and other offerings are genuine and are well made without compromising their identity- ham sui gok, har gau, har cheung fun, wu gok, feng zhao - the limited selection we tried were all true to what we expected of these dishes which makes this worth revisiting if I happen to pass by and need a bit of a feed in the morning next time. The service is excessively nice, and they don't play into the stereo type that yum cha wait staff need to be brisk and cold, and that's actually a welcome change that makes sense given the customer base here is more family oriented.

Ordered from this restaurant via a delivery app. Rang the restaurant to customise order and the person who answered was friendly and wonderful. The order came on time and you could see they took pride in their cooking. For example the honey chicken I ordered they put it in a container and placed an open hot bag over it, so the freshly fried chicken could stay crispy and it did stay very crispy and hot. This honey chicken was one of the best dishes I've had, you could actually taste the real honey and it made all the difference. It wouldn't surprise me if they used manuka honey because it was just so delicious. I also ordered Mongolian beef, which was another very tasty and flavourful dish. They were able to switch out the lamb for beef. For me the satay wasn't the greatest but the rest of the dishes were just so brilliantly executed. They listened to my dietary restrictions and added no egg to the fried rice and used beef instead of lamb. Even though the satay wasn't the greatest, the amazing customer service and the thoughtfulness the chef had when packaging the order for delivery bumped my 4 star review into a 5 star. Thank you.

A suburban Cantonese restaurant that offers yum cha daily in an old-school atmosphere environment that's well laid out in its pagoda design making it quite comfortable to dine in. Going for yum cha on a weekday lunch, it wasn't that busy (but they had a steady stream of customers) and staff came out regularly with trays of small baskets and plates of classic dim sum. Generally the taste of most dishes was up to scratch with traditional flavours and overall a place I would come back to. Prices are standard and a little high for the suburban location but they offer 5% off if you pay with cash. Service is good for this type of slightly upmarket suburban Cantonese restaurant. There's free parking across the street.

Hello We have been going to Imperial Peking for years over 30 years

We always had great experience and always enjoyed the food and service

We took our grandkids last school holidays for lunch we where 6 adults

Food was great large portions Had great time and it was worth the money of $$290

We thought to take then again to Imperial Perking

What a disappointment

We ordered 5 dishes of 3 Meats 1 Chicken 1 Prawn Plus 2 Soft noodles 1 Fried rice

We where given new menus First not only they put they prices up not by $1or $2 dollars but by $5 plus dollars and they made they portions smaller

The meats where disgusting The was more onions then meat

The meat they put 3/4 pieces but the rest where so small you couldn’t find them under all the onions

Chicken we ordered honey chicken it was all batter then chicken and very limited

The prawns where limited and full of onions

And the noodles where put in a small plate to look a lot as they where hunging out of it and the rice the same

We paid $290 dollars but very disappointed

We will think before we go there again

It is very sad as we have supported this Restaurant and been loyal customers throughout the years

I like to let your manager and your owner know as you will loose loyal customers We know we will not come back

Thank you Kind Regards

After my review I contact the owner to give him my feedback

He was very defensive and try to say it has been hard because of Covid

I told him we do understand you need to put your prices up but you also need to provide to your customers

We tried to support him for many years even when there was an incident with our food that we had in our dish a fried big fly

His response was OH how big was the fly

I fly in the food is not exeptable

I feel that he can’t see the problem and he is not taking criticism very well

I just like to let people know to be aware We feel we been...

After reading all the 5 star reviews we were excited to visit this local restaurant for a yum cha lunch as this style of eating has always been a favourite of our families.

The unassuming entrance gives way to a nostalgia filled dining space that is pleasant and inviting. The gentleman who greated us at the door was friendly and he quickly seated us and had us set up with Chinese tea , soy and chilli sauce. We were giddy with excitement at the thought trying the food as so far, so good!

Sadly, this is where our experience fell apart. The food was at best average with prices that were well above average. We were being offered yum cha that seemed to be more directed towards western palates with things like prawn toast, that was some pretty average tasting prawn toast, spring rolls and deep fried squid. The steamed offering were OK, but the sumai or dimsums as they were refered too did not taste as if they were prepared fresh that day.

All in all we were a disappointed table surrounded by really happy tables. Folks here are shire locals and from reading reviews here on Google, long time customers.

Our bill came to nearly $60 which was for 5 small plates of Yum cha, and 1...
