Ive been here only a few times on special occasions, and this is definitely one of the best places to go to for one, such as a date, birthday, or a small celebration The staff here are quite fantastic, and usually do their best to make customers leave with a smile on their faces. The chefs should also be commended, because the food here is absolutely amazing. Knocked my socks right off. I wanted to come here with my partner as she’s never been to this place, and I’ve grown up living practically next to it. I recall it was a fantastic place and that she should experience it too. We were excited to try it out again after a long time, and it was a fantastic experience. We ordered a lot of food on this day, probably overkill for two people, but it was so delightful. They use an iPad for customers to place orders and look through their menu, and they usually have a wide range of dishes and sides, though some may occasionally be unavailable. In total we had a salmon lover roll, salmon miso yaki, takoyaki, karaage bun, tempura California roll, pan fried gyoza, squid tempura, and a small udon bowl. Everything was fantastic. The aburi salmon lover and the tempura California rolls were one of the best rolls I’ve had, and I can confidently say that. Both rolls were freshly made, and the blend of flavours in each bite was wonderful. The salmon miso yaki was average at best, as we weren’t entire,y sure what it was. It was very little in size, though the flavours did pack a punch. Unfortunately it was probably the least favourite of the night. Takoyaki was fantastic, better than average, and was generously topped with bonito flakes. The karaage bun was definitely the sleeper hit of the night. Judging by its name, it doesn’t sound that appetising, but when it comes to taste, it excelled well beyond our expectations. Although little, it packed some serious flavour and the bun was there to balance it all out. It was my partners favourite meal that night. Pan fried gyozas: timeless and essential, couldn’t go wrong with it, tasted just as good as we expected, with the sauce to compliment it further. Squid tempura was decent, it lacked quite a bit of flavour and mostly tasted of batter from the crumbed parts, but it was a lot tastier after dipping it with the provided sauce. The udon noodles were delightful, and my partner had finished most of it before I could have seconds. She had already entered a food coma halfway inti the night, so I had eaten most of the food, no regrets though. Definitely a night to remember, not only because of the absurd amount of food we ordered, but also because of how delectable everything had tasted. Scrumptious.

Had lunch here today. Order thru touch screen, which is quite up-to-date Japanese. Seating is less comfortable than expected, still much better than eating Raman standing, as in Tokyo. Seemingly the renovation only focus on appearance, & disregard practical aspects such as noise & db level. The place may be only 50% full at the most, but quite noisy given as the good spacing. The noise must had been bounced back from very hard surface therefore amplified the volume & heightened the db as well. What if this place is full? Could be painful. Big windows brings in a lot of natural light in ... which is good. Nonetheless half of all the seats are looking directly towards the light. May be I should wear my sunglasses throughout my entire lunch. Or may be dinner would be better. This place is a bit more expensive comparing to other Japanese places I've been to. I've ordered the "recommended" Spicy Pork Mince Udon for $21. The broth is tasty but to my disappointment ... it is not spicy at all. The portion is small so it was a half filled lunch. Not as bad as I gotta get myself a Big Mac to top up this lunch ... but afternoon tea before dinner is in order. Would I be back here again? May be not within the foreseeable future, given as there are so many good choices around Maroubra junction.

When I first walked into this place, my first thought was “what a great atmosphere” perfect for dinner. We were greeted by lovely staff, who immediately prepared our table when we arrived (Note: I absolutely recommend booking before you come). The tables are nice, comfortable chairs and we were served immediately with water (this is also a BYO restaurant) so they brought an ice bucket for the wine. The tables were also assigned an iPad with a very clear and easy way to order our food. The food was excellent, and it wasn’t a long wait for it either, due to the immediate ordering system thanks to the IPads. The two dishes I would highly recommend was the Teriyaki beef (which was FABULOUS) and the Chicken katsu. The only downside to this restaurant was the kids area. It wasn’t much of a hassle for us because we went at a later time when there weren’t as kids there. On other occasions though, I think it wouldn’t have been the best experience with the hello kids. Overall great atmosphere, fabulous food, outstanding customer service.

This is the arguably the best child friendly restaurant in Sydney. For starters there is a little play area and the staff go out of their way to make sure families feel welcome. There is also colouring in and you can ask for a balloon when you leave. Then there is the food. There is a kids menu which has everything from nuggets to child friendly sushi and all of them come with Jelly. The drinks can be ordered in child sizes and come in a sealed plastic cup with a straw. You order on an ipad which means parents don't have to be frustrated as the children all place their orders at the same time. You order the meal you want and a few minutes later someone will bring it out for you. The adult menu is Japanese fusion and all hot dishes come with a decent salad garnish. The sushi and sashimi is nice and fresh and the appetisers are wonderful. And to some it all up nothing is too difficult. Split bill on two different cards? No problem. Extra umbrellas for the kids desserts? Sure. The staff here make the most patient parents look like fascists. Id like to finish off with mentioning a couple of special dishes but frankly I cant pick. The food is all good...
