We’ve been coming to Lifeboat Seafood for over 20 years.

What began as a mother’s day tradition has morphed into a birthday tradition whenever I am back in town from Singapore for a visit.

The quality of the food is always high. Fresh fish, with plenty of varieties; huge prawns, and large calamari that has breakable chew and is never stringy.

Today’s visit was no exception. Combining my brother and I’s birthdays we came with empty stomach’s and full expectations.

I believe they may have new owners since we last visited as we didn’t recognise any of the staff and yet the food was still delicious.

We started with oysters, deep-fried prawns and calamari to start, followed by individual servings of fish ‘n’ chips and a salad to share.

The house-made tartar is also great. Less sweet than store bought but still with that memorable tang.

We all commented on the lightness of the batter. The consistency was golden brown with a great crunch and you can tell they use fresh oil and change it often to maintain the quality standard.

Portions are a good size, so although it is quite spendy you’ll leave fulfilled.

The only thing missing here is the vinegar! (I wonder if we just...

What an absolute pleasant surprise ... popped into Brooklyn and found this really nice little location fish and chip seafood takeaway called Lifeboat Seafood with alfresco seating area. The fish and chips were crazy good sooooo fresh and just beautiful ...I've never had anything like it, in freshness ...produce and the way it was cooked :) I can also honestly recommend the seafood plate as well... this is by far one of the most hidden little secret spots in Sydney to get really fresh fish and seafood straight from the boats. Matt, Glenn, Warren, Julius and Kev make for a genuine first class team to supply the best casual seafood dining experience in my opinion in Sydney .....do you yourself a treat head down there go for lunch very affordable prices nice seating beautiful ambience with live acoustic music on Sundays ... can highly recommend...

This is a hidden gem. Excellent seafood with the best largest juiciest Tiger Prawns I’ve ever had. Very reasonably priced for quality seafood in an outdoor restaurant setting with service. Fish and chips with salad was fantastic crispy, fresh delicious and the calamari is the real deal. All this with wine, bought next door, fabulous live music under cover with a beautiful wisteria vine. The day was 33 deg but we didn’t feel hot under the canopy. Not glamorous but rustic and a perfect afternoon. Not only that but the 2 guys running it couldn’t have been more accommodating. We didn’t have a booking and they fitted us in at a busy time and were wonderful about it. The other staff were so friendly too. This is equal to many upmarket seafood houses in Sydney. Plus it’s a lovely drive and walk around. What a hit...

My wife and I dropped in to have a look around Brooklyn on our home from Chisholm! We wandered around a stumbled across Life Boat Cafe and WOW! The menu read really well and everything sounded amazing! The Chef and his team were fantastic, super friendly and attentive & nothing was too much trouble even though they were under the pump busy! The food, well, simply unreal, the seafood was fresh and tasty, the salad crunchy and the chips yumm! The price was very reasonable and we felt satisfied after we ate. The place is quaint and was packed, as well as a lot of people ordering takeaway! They had a guy singing while we ate and he was great, not too loud that you couldn't chat but loud enough to enjoy. We highly recommend Life Boat Cafe and can't wait to go back. A big thank you to you all 🍾🥂

Lifeboat Seafood in Brooklyn is an absolute must-visit if you’re anywhere near the Hawkesbury. From the moment we arrived, the friendly, laid-back vibe and waterfront setting and live music made us feel like we were on holiday. The seafood is incredibly fresh — we tried the local Jew fish and squid, and both were absolutely spot-on. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and served with generous portions of chips and salad. The house-made tartare sauce was next level! Service was warm and welcoming, and you can tell the staff take real pride in what they do. Whether you’re grabbing takeaway for a picnic or sitting down to enjoy the view, this place hits all the right notes. Highly recommended for seafood lovers or anyone just looking to enjoy great food in a relaxing setting. We’ll definitely be back
