Livoti's Italian restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

Disappointing experience. The first time we came here we had enjoyed it, so decided to return with elderly relatives. Our expectations were high from the previous experience, we assumed it would be good again, however unfortunately the standard of cooking has not turned out to be consistent.

We ordered salads as side dishes to share with our meals. Firstly it would have been good if the person taking our order had pointed out we would not need the side salads, as the meals came with a huge pile of salad already, which was not mentioned on the menu.

Three out of the five of us ordered the Crumbed Veal cutlet, which were all cooked very differently. Only one was cooked so it was still tender, however the piece of lemon on this plate had what appeared to be a maggot and tiny flies on it, which put the diner off eating anymore of their meal.

Although this meal was taken off the bill, the other two veal cutlet meals were tough and overcooked, and the crumbs on the outside at the point of looking burned...we informed the waitress of this but there was no offer of any discount or compensation for these meals which were not enjoyable to eat.

The Veal Funghi was below average, the sauce was pleasant but the veal was chewy and difficult to cut.

The only meal which was enjoyed by any of us was the Spaghetti Marinara.

Unfortunately we will not be returning. Our first experience here was great, but this one was almost a complete fail. We cannot afford to play...

I know this is a huge local fave, but it’s just not great in several aspects. The absolute worst part about Livoti’s is that it is SO NOISY. You are seated in a little market, with concrete floors and zero attempt to create good acoustics. The result: an evening spent shouting across the table and responding to my companions with a whole lot of “huh? What did you say”. Management really needs to look at a solution here. Some area rugs, blinds on the windows, even table cloths would help. The food is ok, not great, but cheap. The wine list is very limited, they only have one of each of a few varieties to choose from by the glass. Basically, it might be ok for takeaway, but definitely not a...

Livoti's is GREAT. Went there for our son's 25th with fam (6) people all up. Place was packed to the rafters, yet the staff were great. Service was still reasonable and fairlly quick concidering how many people were there. Staff were always around and asking did we need anything. Food arrived reasonable quick. But the food!!!, Fantastic, really. Being of Italian extraction its always hard to find a place with true Italian flavours and that aroma, reminded me of home.! This was the third time we have been there and will be going back again, for the food and the staff who always had a smile...
