The roast pork had amples of gravy which was a big plus, and the pork was good quality too. Disappointing was the roasted red pepper with the Sunday roast. Since when is a pepper part of a roast? We're British and I can assure you that's not the case. Felt like a random mix of old veggies they had & added to the roast. We also had a sticky toffee pudding and it was stale, dry & hard as rock and it had a few dates in and a couple of dates even had the stone still in it! I understand coronavirus makes bookings and things a bit tricky, but we were never 'warned' at the start of our booking that we only had 2 hours sitting, so when it came to 6pm (4pm booking) we were abruptly told to leave. We still had a glass of wine left, so I asked if we could go into the bar - the host was so rude and said "I don't know where you can go, I can't help you" and swiftly moved on. We found our own spot but left shortly after as we didn't feel welcome anymore.

Highly recommend losing personal effects here; they are returned to you thoughtfully packaged. I was several days into mourning the loss of my favourite Isabel Marant sweater when I gave The Lord Dudley another try and was graciously assisted in discovering it draped over a banister. My leaving it at the pub notwithstanding, I have a reverence for this sweater matched only by the wonderfully kind lady who sweetly wrapped it up for collection. I cannot thank you enough. The ambiance at The Lord Dudley is also excellent, as is the fish burger, which on Wednesdays is only $15 (as are all the burgers, with none of this additional cost for chips business).

Only giving one star as zero stars wasn’t an option. Ordered the pie and mash, to be given a pie which was more like a tasteless watered down chicken stock soup with a pastry lid. The mash came out after we had finished eating (asked for this twice). The lady manager was the RUDEST person I have encountered in a long long time. I have never witnessed customer service like it in my life and I have worked in hospitality for many years. Judging by other customer reviews she is clearly in the wrong job and incapable of communicating like a normal human being. Would NOT recommend and will never be returning, which is a shame as this is my new local.

Going to open this with saying that I have never left a google review in my life, so you know this experience was bad and much to my annoyance 0 stars does not exist for google reviews.

Not really sure where to start on the absolutely disgusting service we got at the lord Dudley. But for those that don’t want to read on I purely suggest NOT TO BOTHER VISITING unless you are prepared for pure disappointment, or for those that are here for the tea… strap in!

As a once returning customer of the lord Dudley I can truthfully say I will never spend another dollar in there.

The original issue was at the bar ordering dinner where THE FEMALE MANAGER mishandled my friends order, when he questioned the incorrect price her response was not only rude but also aggressively dismissive. She continued to struggle with their refund system ultimately charging him twice. We suggested a solution (as I was ordering the same thing) however, instead of a polite apology for the mishap or straightforward response I received rude and snappy orders to “TRUST THEIR PROCESS” and a card machine being thrown across the bar at us multiple times.

1 by 1 we order our food and she continued to be rude to each and every one of us.

After her insistence on “trusting their process” I waited, and waited and waited for my food, watching people that ordered well after me eating their meals I decided to approach her for an update. She first was rude and sarcastic then shooed me away from her whilst shouting “GET AWAY FROM ME” and never came to the table with an update on my food. It arrived 10 minutes later along with the sides that my friends had ordered with their mains that they were already finished with (I would say finished but the pie, which is usually great tasted like dirty dish water and meat was somewhat inedible for most)

She is unapproachable and clearly incompetent not only on their till system but also of engaging in any kind of human interaction and I am unsure how she has landed a management role especially at a pub which I USED to hold with high regard. Quite frankly the whole situation with her suppressed my appetite and subsequently my food was also left.

My advice to her would be to get a job where you can work autonomously and not put off her negative attitude on to other people, especially PAYING customers. I hope higher management of the Lord Dudley take this seriously as from what I saw today her behaviour clearly rubs off on the other staff and she is by no means setting any kind of example.

I now understand why punters drink outside on the street rather than having to be...

There wasn't anything too stand out but I would have been happy to give this pub a better review if the service hadn't been awful. My food arrived an hour after I had ordered it. But more importantly, the female manager was incredibly rude, I had never met someone so rude in customer service. She was rude to my friend, making comments about what an inconvenience it was for her to change an order on the system because my friend wanted to add something to her order, she said "now I have to do it all over again", then my friend questioned the price of her order because she felt like she'd underpaid and wanted to do the right thing by bringing it to her attention. The manager was rude and sarcastic and said "I can charge you more if you'd like", I couldn't believe it. Later in the evening she walked past our table and I politely asked if it would be okay to take away my plate, as it was next to my dessert plate and there wasn't enough room in front of me to eat my dessert. I wasn't targeting her in particular, I was just waiting for the first worker that would pass our table. Instead of being nice and taking it away, she passive aggressively said "we have floor workers that are supposed to do that but whatever". I was so taken aback at how rude she was, the comment was unnecessary and it's not like I was being entitled. The fact is, no floor workers were coming to our table for a long time. I was nice all along, her behaviour towards me and others was unwarranted. Because of that one person I won't be coming back, nor will any of my friends. What a...

I have been going to this pub since I was born (with a responsible adult of course)! The same wonderful family have owned it. Improvements have been made over time, including the amazing extensions that have occurred in recent years. They are brilliant and utilised the existing space soo well!! The staff are wonderful. Polite young guys and girls serving. My experience with management (my experience is very very extensive) has been nothing short of fabulous. We are all human, but if you are someone who really searches for fault, it’d be damn hard to find. I go out to relax and have a laugh, good meal and enjoy the service. I always had this, thus my rather regular patronage! The food is also super yummy! The pie is a signature dish that has been a fav for decades, and a consistently good pie! For those that have spent time in English pubs, they’d be all too familiar with this classic ‘pastry on top’ style pie. Delish!! The pet friendly aspect is great too. Love seeing the dogs in there. Great having an outside footpath option too. Again, for those that have spent time in the UK, in particular London, they’ll appreciate the beauty in this. Such a wonderful memory of all my times in London. Oh to be on the footpath of the South Ken pubs again. Brilliant memories that The Lord Dudley recreates! Get a slice of London...
