We were genuinely not happy with our meals at luigis friday the 13th of october. The entrees were actually delicious!! Absolutely beautiful we loooved them so much! But it ended there.. It was our mains that were horrid. My husband recieved the pork saltimbocca and it was no better than a microwaved meal , it was bland with no flavour , basically minute pork steak heated up in a microwave (which it definitely was for the brocolli on the dish to burn my husbands mouth the way it did and the prosciutto was a leather wrinkled boot. Then my gnocchi calabrese was chewy and rubbery absolutely 100% packet gnocchi and not a great quality one at all. Absolutely horrible. We did not eat it and the waitress looking after us would of seen that.
Timing was not great either over half an hour wait for the entree and then a 45 minute wait after entrees for our mains.
When we went to pay our bill the hostess asked how everything was and we were honest and told her we were not happy and her words were "oh im sorry about that did u tell your waitress?" We said "no we did not" (we werent going to wait any longer for another meal) and then she said "okay heres your total of the bill"
Safe to say we will not be back. We were not trying to get a freebie out of anyone or dodge paying our bill but this was not rectified the way it should be if someone is not happy with their meal.
I will 100% pay double the price and stick to Amoretti’s just...
Read moreWe reserved and went there in 2 batches, so we ordered in 2 batches too. The first order came and we ate. The second order, which we made not far from the first, took ages to come. The lady who got our second batch of order (different from the one who got the first order) apparently didn't raise our order because she came back (when the first batch of food was almost finished) asking if we wanted to go ahead with the second order. Thinking the food was ready to be served, I said yes - but it looked like that's the only time she instructed the kitchen to work on this order (it's not even a dessert to think it should be served last). After almost 15 minutes, I followed up and the staff said it's coming but it didn't come. The second time I followed up, the staff said it's coming but it didn't come. My brother then followed up the third and fourth time and they still said it's coming. After almost 45 minutes since the lady approached me, the food came. The serving staff didn't even apologise for the delay, as if nothing happened when this was not the case the first and second time we had our family dinner there. That night was so bad. This staff needs re-training on customer service as clearly she...
Read moreHaven't come to Luigi's in many years, and the only thing that has changed is the staff and the very high prices. To be honest I don't think the prices are worth it, the food is quite average. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's decent enough, but not for what they're currently asking. Then there were a couple of mistakes, like using the linguine instead of fettucini without telling me they ran out. And I know for a fact the fettucini is a higher quality pasta at Luigi's than any other. And the avocado on the Chicken AVOCADO was so unripe it was inedible. These things sting more when you are charging an arm and a leg for the privilege.
Overall I did have a decent night. The ragu was good and well seasoned despite the pasta issue, and the service was excellent. The service was the make or break, and thankfully my server came through. She was lovely, and mentioned being fairly new, so hopefully this clues the owner as to who this is.
Anyways, I won't be back. I'd give it another chance if the price as well as the food was average, but I'd rather spend the same money elsewhere...
