Came in here to dine with my husband and son and of course we over ordered. We got the Ensaymada burger which had the sweet filipino ensaymada bread as the bun with a beef patty, cheese, siracha maple bacon & rocket topped with more grated cheese ($14). If you like that sweet and savoury combo, it would def hit that spot. We also got the 3pcs BBQ sticks for $15. This is pork marinated in a sweet filo concoction and basted with more sweet sauce. Paired with the papaya pickle, this is a winner. Next we had the FFC rice bowl. This is Filipino Fried Chicken served with infused coconut rice, atchara (pickled papaya), mang tomas sauce and filipino banana ketchup ($16). Lastly we had the Chicken Adobo loaded fries and it was so damn good! This was a slow cooked chicken marinated in adobo sauce (vinegar & soy with lots of garlicky goodness) on a bed of hot fries topped with onion, shallots, chili, peri peri and aioli sauce ($12). I really wanted their halo halo dessert but there was no way I was going to be able to fit another spoonful in... So I'll just have to come back next time. All up we spent $57 on those plus my sons kids meal. Good value as it was filling and they were generous with their meat toppings. There's limited parking right infront of the store and inside the shop is quite roomy if you're coming in with kids/pram. It's nothing flash but let's face it, you're visiting for the great food not necessarily for instamoments. Next door is Tee-Lish Brownies.. But that's for another...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the Jack Truffle ($14 )and Americano ($16 )burger last week and dead set these are the best beef burgers Iāve had in a long time. Just had the Aussie Angus Burger ($9.8)from Macdonaldās and it does not compare to the gourmet crafted burgers from Mate Burger , it was bad actually and will not buy again. The fried onion rings in the MB Americano is huge, crispy and had flavour, the one in the Aussie Angus was soggy, and textureless much like the buns and the rest of the burger. In comparison, the smashed beef patty in the MB burgers are also much larger, juicier and tastier and matched perfectly matched with the buttery brioche buns thatās been warmed over the grill. All the MB burger ingredients are quality from the cheese, crispy bacon and special sauces ( the truffle mayo they use is heaven), unlike the mass produced ingredients used by Maccas. If you want to spoil yourself and be reminded what a good burger should taste like you must try these burgers from MB. Donāt get me started on their pork belly ālechonā burger too. They cost a few dollars more than the Maccas gourmet burgers, but the quality, taste and satisfaction factor is miles ahead, you certainly get what you pay for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe guy at the counter was friendly but had no idea about what was on the menu. Tried to order the sticky liempo bbq pork and tells us thereās no bbq pork. So instead we ordered the sisig and paid for our order. Only to be told after we paid, that they didnāt have Sisig. Then we asked so you donāt have sisig and you donāt have liempo bbq pork? He replied with āwe have liempo, itās really nice, but no bbq porkā. So we order āliempoā. Our order finally came out 35 mins later AFTER people who ordered after us got their orders first. When we got our order which was the āliempoā it was what we originally wanted to order.. sticky liempo bbq pork which he said was not available. Our order included pickled vegetables and when we asked about the pickled vegetables, the guy at the counter had no idea and had to ask the kitchen staff about it. Kitchen staff tells him thereās no pickled vegetables. It would be nice to know that information at the time we ordered or give us something else to make up for the missing items thatās clearly written...
