What is this ID nightmare COVID has created? Need a licence.... Don't have a licence... Need photo ID.... Bring passport... Passport shows no address so not accepted. The reason I don't carry my licence is the result of technology meaning I don't need a wallet and that's hugely convenient. But a bigger, more recent reason is COVID. Tapping a phone to pay everywhere is far more hygienic than handling a licence (and other cards) another human hand has touched. Far more hygienic. But blaming the staff for doing their bosses bidding is like blaming the Washington police for doing Trump's bidding in the recent White House riots. So I give four stars for the North Ryde RSL's staff. Would it be such an issue though if the powers that be relaxed their draconian rules until the COVID crisis passes? Business has been down these last 12'months (also business owner) and the RSL might get a little more business if they weren't so strict. The solution to our issue involved my annoyed wife being forced to join and then given the paltry offer of 10% discount throughout the RSL - except for in the Chinese Restaurant WHICH WAS THE WHOLE REASON WE HAD DRIVEN OUT TO NORTH RYDE! If House of Tong is not associated with North Ryde RSL in regard to providing membership discounts then WHAT IS THE POINT OF SIGNING IN? The restaurant was fantastic, the food exemplary, the service top notch but I don't understand why bureaucracy needs to get involved. Either relax your rules, dissociate your two businesses or give me my 10 minutes back.

First time checking out this local rsl club. I got a $5 membership for one year and you have to sign in showing your ID/Drivers Licence.Once your a member, you can sign in other people who come to the club with you. Plenty of free parking out the front. There's Tribal Zone (indoor kids play area) There's an area for younger kids and another for the older kids toddlers + ( be aware there is a height restriction) my 9 year old was too tall yet the lady working there was happy to let her in for today. Food at the restaurant outside from the kids play area opens for dinner from 5.30 to 8.30pm Also open for lunch 12pm- 2.30pm Monday- Sunday Lunch deals Monday-Thursday There's also a bunch of different bars, cafe and yumcha. It's $6 per kid for 2 hours of play Younger kids you need to stay and supervise and the older kids you can have them in the play area and they can come and go to where tour sitting in the bistro area to come eat. Most of the food was decent and proper sized mains.Drinks from the bar were good. Not a fancy looking place, but it had what you'd expect from an rsl club Plenty of toilets and there is a toilet with a baby change tablet. Outside of the rsl club there is also a fitness first, Kids Gym, Swim School

A great RSL club with several places to dine (Chinese or western), lawn bowls, tennis courts, fields (with a junior club), Anytime Fitness gym, aviary, children's play area, function rooms, obligatory pokies, etc. The food is good and there is plenty of seating. It's also nice to have the option between western and Chinese food (at The Houde of Tong). The kids always love the children's play area, which has some play machines and a big slide and ball pit area. It costs $6 for 2 hours per child. It is conveniently located next to the main eating area. It is supervised and operated by staff. Older children can go in and out, and for younger children, you are given a buzzer (like the one for the restaurant) so they can buzz you if there is a need to do so.

We visited the Marble cafe with a group of seniors. The staffs were very helpful which include Malcolm which help setting the tables for our convenience upon request, Angela over the counter who always polite and with a lovely smile to place our orders. Mitchell at the bar who is also very helpful and patient with all my queries for the drinks. Last but not least is the lady at the membership station show me where the cafe n the bar is which I did not expect she will do it after she fixed my membership card. I could have give 4stars but the quality of food is disappointing though it's a big serve. I would not recommend a soft papadum to go with chicken curry which I can make a better crispy one at home using microwave!

We came here last year 6+ months ago and we liked that there was supervision for the kids play area and we could sit outside and enjoy some peace and quiet while we ordered the food. This second time around however the food quality has gone down and the prices had gone up. It really discourages us who aren’t local to come because kids meals are $17 for non members and a simple Alfredo pasta $23 with no meat and just cream, the mushrooms weren’t cooked with butter or have any flavour. The curry was $20 and wedges $15! The only good thing was the gelato! Sadly husband says he’s not taking us here anymore. My friend does recommend the Chinese restaurant though.
