Papaya Thai Express — Restaurant in Sydney

I think Papaya Thai express is a great comeback attempt post Coverd 19. After the pandemic hit it was great to see this business pop up again across the road in an effort to with stand the severe financial hardship facing so many Australians. When I ordered at the restaurant last night it was only the second time I’ve eaten at the new establishment and I was excited about ordering something new. I settled on a pork belly dish which was on their specials at $22. Admittedly I was deeply disappointed with the dish at first. The pork belly meat had come away from the fat and the serving of the dish left me with mostly just pork fat and almost no succulent fat laden meat to enjoy. Further to that the pork belly wasn’t crispy as advertised so I felt disappointed. It was a pretty tragic way to end the Sunday night actually but the good news is I called the restaurant on Monday and told them how I felt about the dish and I was pleasantly surprised with managements response. I was offered a replacement dish and to that I am greatly appreciative. I think the customer service here is excellent and will continue to dine at the establishment knowing they have my goodwill and trust. Ordered online ... what was delivered was extremely poor value. Whereas normally restaurants deliver in large takeaway containers all servings were in small takeaway containers... even the ‘large’ rice. The seafood stirfry had only one prawn and was mostly vegies so clearly they were saving money on the seafood. The grilled chicken was tiny and not even served to fill a small container - it was served in paper and it was 19 dollars and half rice. I have ordered at Papaya Thai Express quite a few times over the last few years. I ordered again tonight (the food was alright, not great) but I was extremely disappointed. I turned up a few minutes before my order was to be ready only to see that my food was being warmed up in the microwave (!!) and not only that, they were heating it up in the take away plastic container (!!), that is really not okay for me. We know enough about microplastics that this shouldn't be happening. Either cook it fresh, or warm it on...
