I chanced upon this restaurant in 2018/2019 when I was looking for dim sum. It wasn’t busy then and one of the few that remained opened. We ate, left and didn’t return for more until last week. Saw the queue and thought they must have improved heaps in light of the crowd dour side and inside the restaurant. It was a 15 mins wait and seating arrangement wasn’t ideal nor logical. My partner and I weren’t allowed to seat together. He was asked to sit at the head of the table (by himself) whereas I ended up seated with a total stranger who was all by herself. And right across from us, another couple whereas others (couples mostly) get a table all to themselves when can accomodate four, so what happens to table sharing? ‘Cos they looked like they need quality time by themselves? What’s the logic?

Anyway, food was a major letdown. Beef was tough, lack of taste - probably frozen meat and soup was loaded MSG as it left me parched throughout the day till the following day. Drank like a goldfish after my visit. Some of the noodles were in lumps. Not authentic Vietnamese cuisine. How is Laksa and many other food on the menus is Vietnamese?

This restaurant goes with a Vietnamese name and yet the menu is all over the place. It’s like a Jack of all trades and master of none. Or is experiencing an identity crisis.

Unpleasantries aside, staffs were...

*Please note that there's a worm in the video

This place used to be one of our favourite restaurants in Sydney, but not anymore. As my partner loves their vermicelli noodles, I bought some foods on my way home even though it's out of my way / 15 minutes driving from our place. And when we were about to enjoy our foods, we found this creepy worm just came out of the beef vermicelli noodle container. Well, we instantly lost our appetite and called them straight away.

First attempt, they didn't pick up, on the second attempt a lady picked up the call. I talked about the situation little bit, then she changed to someone else as explaining something in Mandarin. I and my partner said that we have found a worm in the food many times repeatedly to the second lady, but she just kept saying "I don't know, I don't understand, I can't hear you" (We were changing words too. a worm, a bug, something in the food- for her understanding) So we just gave up because even if I drive, they will be closed by the time I get there.

My point is this. Because it's not just a fly(It had blood in it!), I wanted to hear something more responsible answer from them. At least a word- Sorry. The food is good, but I won't go back if this is their food hygiene standard. Highly...

Stumbled across this very hidden gem when browsing. Super popular amongst the locals and, even at 1130am, there was a bit of a queue. Service is quite quick though and there is no nonsense here, just a straightforward and great value eatery.

First thing you'll notice, though, is that this restaurant has a huge variety of dishes with a large proportion being Cantonese in origin. In fact, the staff speak Cantonese. Not that this is a bad thing, but, something I noticed in terms of authenticity.

Combination beef pho Soup: S, 8/10. Has a pretty decent spiced and beefy flavour but lacking a bit of depth Beef: A, 7/10. Actual beef pieces were just standard Other toppings: SS, 9/10. Quite generous variety of other pieces such as meatballs, cartilage and tripe. Sides: S, 8/10. Complimentary blanched beansprouts, mint and lemon are appreciated Value: S+, 8.5/10. $18 is pretty good these days

Crispy chicken tomato rice Chicken: S, 8/10. Really crispy but the meat was a little dry Tomato rice: S, 8/10. Had a decent flavour but again a bit dry. Both remedied by a bit of fish sauce Value: S+,...
