Poseidon's Catch — Restaurant in Sydney

Not Happy Have been eating here for many years and loved it. There was a change in owners, & the quality has suffered a bit & portion sizes are certainly smaller. They have branched into Chinese meals, for takeaway & to eat in, and these are superb meals. My big issue was misuse of my credit card, I thought they accidentally charged the previous customer's order to my credit card (as well as our meals) when I found an extra entry charged to my card, so I politely spoke to her in private & she knows us & we are consistent in our orders. The hostility & excuses & changes in story beggar belief. We'll never eat there nor buy from them again, very distressing experience.

The response below, is their fifth story about the misuse of my credit card that day, and like all the other (and very different stories), it is just not true. On that day my son was at Parramatta till after 6.00 PM with my wife, some 20 kms away, AND he did not have nor use my credit card, not at this business nor anywhere in Parramatta, as evidenced by my bank statements. The Bank has confirmed that my credit card was tapped twice on their EFTPOS machine at 7.30 PM, just seconds apart. I believe the Bank on this one, and not this business, particularly as their four previous stories have all proven to be untrue. Now saying my son misused my credit card, when he was over 20 kms away, is seriously offensive. The fact remains, my son, wife and I entered the shop ONCE that day at 7.30 PM, not TWICE, and as the Bank has confirmed, my credit card was tapped on the EFTPOS machine twice. The business denies that and has had five different stories, one of which was that they did not receive the money, despite me highlighting in bright orange the second entry on the merchant summary. I initially believed this was an accident, and they had many opportunities to refund the money incorrectly charged to my credit card, they NEVER offered to refund the error. Their statement of the offer of a refund, NEVER occurred and only appears in their response below, more than 2 months after...

My usual fish and chip shop was under renovations so I decided to try Poseidon's in Lane Cove. The wait wasn't very long, which was good, I didn't order any fish so I cannot comment on what they're like, I ordered chips, potato scallops, battered savs,and seafood sticks! And unfortunately, it was very ordinary. The potato scallops were disgusting, very small in size and very oily. I thought they were really over cooked and till I realised there was almost no potato in them at all, just batter, really bad taste! The chips and the other items were undercooked, perhaps the reason I got my order so quickly, because at the time it was very busy. The chips had the potential to be good but had no plain salt which I deliberately asked for, The rest of my order had very little salt as well, once again I had asked for plain salt and received very little. While that's not a big issue, the battered savs were much more oily than I was used to the seafood Sticks were tasteless and too, and to top it all off, I was charged an extra dollar more than I should've been for the prices they had showing in the display cabinet. I didn't say anything and i thanked them and I received my order without a smile or thanks and left. I definitely will not be going back. I was genuinely disappointed, Poseidon's has been there a long time and I thought It would've been much better!...

Excellent service and beautiful fresh seafood, every time. Grreat fresh salads. This would be hard to beat. I have been a resident of Lane Cove for 20 months, lived in Australia for 39 years, and have never before seen such service which is consistently 10/10 every time. Today the owners were not there, but the employees were just as helpful, friendly, efficient, smiling, as any owner of any business would be. Absolutely amazing, 10/10 every time, countless times now. Quality of seafood, pride in it, service, efficiency, all 10/10 every time. Congratulations Poseidon's!
