ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE WHICH HONESTLY YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE. Updated Please read the original part below to understand the context. It was a shocker to see what happened in response to my original review. The manager called the lady at the front after we posted the review and asked my brother (who had gone to pay the bill) to talk to him, to which he refused by saying “I don’t want to, I am just paying the bill” to which she responded “Mind your language” and started yelling at the manager on phone to come and talk, that’s when I intervened and asked what was the go about and give me the phone so that I can talk to the manager but she couldn’t care any less and started arguing with us. It was amazing to see that all the staff could see what was happening and was also apologising and trying to ask her to not argue and she kept saying I will talk like this. By the time, manager came in and I told him that she has no right to misbehave with someone and I was so amazed to see, I don’t know what the helplessness of the manager that the girl (who I would not like to name, as i can’t stoop that low) kept misbehaving in front of him and he was so helpless. At the end, we left our remaining dosa but they were worried about us paying the bill (which we already did, even for the Dosa which had to leave half eaten). But I guess they had priorities. I mean seriously, asking for Aircon to be turned on on 30+ degrees was not unreasonable at all. It’s a shame that such low standard of customer service was displayed and the way situation was handled and efforts to resolve the issues were made. Original It is 32 degrees as I am writing this sitting on the table. One of the guest asked for the Aircon after kids were hot and they turned on and turned it off as soon as that guest left within 20 minutes. We asked again from the girl serving us that what happened, why the Aircon is turned off. When she asked from the girl on the counter said “bahar se hawa a to rhi hai (air is coming from outside)” and started laughing. This was really disrespectful and while paying bill when we asked why it is like this, first they, they haven’t started using the Aircon and then we insisted that it’s burning hot outside, then they said its not operational but it was working well. It is a very disappointing experience as it is not just about the food, as good food can even be offered by street vendor, but the ambience and connivence is...
Read moreEdit (11-05-2025) - if there is an option to go below 1 star. Given another try today but unfortunately I couldn't find any improvements - ordered Chhole Bhature, Aaloo Puri, Veg noodles, and Onion masala dosa. Chhole Bhature & Aaloo- Puri: As I ordered Chhole Bhature & Aaloo Puri both side by side could clearly see that puri was made of same dough (or the major part was maida in the dough) as of Bharute - puri is always made of aata and bhature using maida.
Onion masala dosa: Dosa batter was sour (more than usual) so not fresh, and Same masala what is was used in masala dosa, given a dry tadka and provided with Puri (in aaloo puri)
I wish they really work on the food quality/taste, this restaurant was always in our top list once but since last few years it's just going down. 😐
Reducing rating from 4 (10 months back) to 1 star (current) based on last two recent experiences. Not sure if the earlier chef has left this restaurant - the quality of food has been degraded, along with service.
Food quality: on last visit we ordered pav bhaji - which used to be its best once upon a time, and misal pav - misal was more like thick spicy moong dal. Second last visit ordered masala dosa and idly samabher - to my surprise in both plates they got different sambhar - one was better, thick, was having vegetables, and the other was like still boiling, half cooked, watery, different in taste.
Regarding service: second last visit I ordered chhole bhature, the staff took the order and forgot to place it in the kitchen - I kept waiting for the order and when I called manager he asks are you waiting for anything - after 40 min of placing the order?? got to know the staff didn't place the order in kitchen at all, the level of disappointment they took a new order after letting me wait for 40 mins and I had to wait for my order to serve because according to them I just joined in order queue, while people who ordered past me, received their orders.
I hope they should start working on...
Read moreLatest update as off 8th December 2021. Absolutely hated it and the services since the time they have opened. Service and food over the years have degraded. Rude manager, lack of communication and coordination amongst staff. Takeaway was ordered. It was fried rice combo and Hakka noodles with 2 dosas. Order placed at 7pm and 8.15pm was pick up time. I reached a bit early which was at 7.45pm and the Chinese was ready but dosas were not. Anyways I paid and they said that it would be done in 5 mins. So I went next door for grocery and came back to the counter at 8.15pm to see that it wasn't done. So waited again till 8.40pm where they kept on telling me that it's coming in 2mins. I finally told them to get a refund at which the male duty manager without knowing the facts lunged at me with attitude and told to let his staff know that I was there (I had been constantly asking them about my order). Outcome the staff didn't gave me my refund and me wait more 10 mins and then my order came only to see the my Chinese food a cold as rock. Came home to eat it and it was absolutely hopeless (pics attached of Hakka noodles which was just no veges in it and only noodles fried in Soya sauce without any other seasoning). Dosas, chutney given was off. Was absolute waste of money, time and it ruined my whole evening. Would highly recommend others not to go there to have an average quality food now with a poor attitude and I'll mannered duty manager and most of the male staff eating gutkha while working in there ( free red colour or seasoning for your food). Must be using it as a food colour for...
