This is the worst service I've ever received.
TLDR: The restaurant overcharged us and provided terrible customer service, including refusing a proper refund and banning us without reason. To make matters worse, the food was bad and they even got our order wrong.
We initially made our order and paid. I went through and calculated what the price should have been and they overcharged us. I understand there's chance for human error. I have nothing against that. Things happen.
I went back to the end of the line and when I got to the front I questioned the price we paid. They themselves when recalculating it were unsure of what it should have been and argued that the amount was correct. They kept saying the combo we ordered was two differing amounts added together. This was when they started to give us a bit of attitude. I had to point out what we ordered and the prices on the menu before they accepted we were overcharged.
At this point we were handed off to another lady behind the counter. She only offered us cash back for this portion. I explained we paid in card and don't carry cash and they're required to give us it back on card. She started debating this and wouldn't accept returning it through card. I told her at this point the ACCC requires this and she told me to get it up.
This is when the owner chimed in, raised his voice and refused to refund through anything but cash. He also refused to refund the surcharge on the amount we were overcharged. He then aggressively shooed us away from the counter before we had any resolution.
I then showed the lady the excerpt from the ACCC ("Refunds should be provided in the same form as the original payment, unless the business and consumer agree otherwise."). She either misheard this or chose to misinterpret it (I'll let whoever reads this be the judge of that) and said the business does not consent. I explained to her that the excerpt requires BOTH the business and customer to agree, but she kept repeatedly cutting me off and telling me she's a lawyer and I quote "I wouldn't mess with me." Eventually they refunded the money through payID, but going through the transactions later we worked out it still was short of the full amount.
When receiving the food the owner raised his voice at me and said "You better be taking this as takeaway and eating away from here." I then questioned what the owner meant by this and was told I'm never to come back to this restaurant. I kept asking for a reason as to why I was not allowed back and was not given a reason just the same sentence over again every time I asked. The lady who ended up giving us the food at the end kept telling us everything was over and refused to clarify anything, instead repeating the same line everytime we asked.
When getting back home we realised they even got our order wrong. We ordered a coke zero as you can see denoted in the picture by ("coke 0") but instead received a regular coke. I normally don't mind this, again things happen. But it does leave a sour taste after everything.
All this aside. If we ignore everything else and just focus on the food, it still was not good. We ended up getting a beef kebab, chips, drink and chicken burger. The burger bun was soggy, the tomato was not fresh, the chicken was soggy and wet. The chips were cold and soggy. The kebab was missing part of the salad, the bread portion of it was soggy. I will give them credit that the beef itself was okay.
The hygiene in the store was questionable too. We saw many cockroaches on the ceiling and the menu board above...
