WORTH THE VISIT WITH CAUTION I should have given 5 stars, as the food was awesome as always. They take care of your dietary requirements to their best.
I have been at this place multiple times and found that in the evening the management gets mostly chaotic whereas afternoons are better.
Recently we had a table booked for 10 at 7 pm and we all reached there by 6:55 pm. There was only one table with that capacity. We asked them if we can occupy it, but were denied that they are going to allot us another table quickly. After 20 mins of waiting, they allotted us the same table. Once we all sat down, 4 other groups came and sat after us. For next 15 mins no one came to take order.
Once we placed the order, we were waiting and watching that all the groups who came after us were being served first, takeaways were delivered, however we were not served even our entrees. By that time it was already 8:20 and our kids started getting restless due to long wait and hunger. When we asked to serve at least something, they gave us entrees and then again we waited for 10 mins and no mains came out of kitchen. This led to a heated conversation where the management told us that as you are vegans, your order is complicated and will take more time than others and hence orders of other people who came first are being prepared and served first. This was ridiculous. We were not told this at the time of ordering that your order will be held up and delayed because as it is vegan.
10 mins later, we were served at 8:40. Our order included two green curries and we were only served one. When we asked they showed us our order docket from far away that you only ordered one. We took it on us and decided not to argue and share our dishes. Later when we looked at our bill, we were charged two green curries. At this time we said we had only one, they brought the person who took order and he confirmed we ordered two.
This was a real mess. All of our friends were disgruntled. It was us who recommended them to come to this restaurant and we were treated like free eaters. Not wanting to put the details here, but to some extent we also felt racist behaviour of management who was free to go and ask other non ethnic guests if they are missing anything on their order and delaying our order, missing our items and even on raising the point they didn't check the order docket if they had a dish missing.
IF YOU ARE VEGAN ASK AT THE TIME OF TAKING A SEAT, HOW MUCH DELAY IS...
Read moreBETTER TO GO TO OTHER THAI RESTAURANTS EDIT: I have reviewed the restaurants response and it is completely incorrect. I attempted to receive a refund and they denied. I asked for a refund and did not want any further food from this establishment. After I was forced to go back to the restaurant I was required to buy food from another restaurant for my family before coming back to the restaurant so they could eat. Whilst the owner did offer to re-cook the food, I refused as this was after my fourth attempt to get a refund and had already bought other food. I had to come into the restaurant again and call the owner with the “food”. Instead of the owner being reasonable and offering me a refund for the disgusting off tasting and terrible food that was worse than frozen food. He has suggested he may commence defamation proceedings for my very legitimate review. 😂 I will support any small business but I will not condone terrible food and terrible customer service. I will ensure that the people of Baulkham hills do not waste their time and money with this place and the owner. There are so many other Thai restaurants that are so much better.
Absolutely terrible food and terrible service. I attempted to request a refund and they refused. I even brought back the “food” they gave me and it was rubbish.
The meat was boiled and not stir fried as it’s supposed to. The flavour was terrible. Tasted off. This is not Thai food, I am disappointed to say the least and I will be pursuing...
Read moreThai Waterfront is literally the epitome of a hidden gem; secluded in Sydney's Bella Vista, it is one of those eateries where to find you must first look. And judging from the amount of customers that walked in and out well into the night, many have now discovered this extravagant dining venue. The decor is inspired by a mix of traditional Indian furniture and more contemporary pieces, lending the restaurant a new, unique feel that makes you feel instantly comfortable. Overlooking a sparkling waterway with its towering fountain, Thai Waterfront's surroundings and design are superb, and easily matched if not dwarfed by their food. Offering a mix of Indian and Thai dishes, from mainstays such as traditional curries and noodles, to the decadent soft shell crab and a variety of fresh salads, it's safe to say that a customer will find something to their taste on the menu. The oil is fresh and golden brown, the salts and spices pop out, the meat is tender and the sauces are rich, and to top it off the dishes are moderately priced, the servings being generously portioned and served up alongside a never-ending supply of scented jasmine rice. Overall, it's incredibly hard to fault Thai Waterfront. Its locale and decorations are modern and new, its family-run service impeccable and friendly, and most importantly its food fresh and scrumptous. A fine place to dine if you're in the mood for a modern take on Indian...
