Rocco's Bar & Gusto — Restaurant in Sydney

I recently visited this restaurant with high hopes for hosting a future birthday dinner. While I had initially intended to give it a higher rating, I cannot overlook the shortcomings that overshadowed my overall experience.

Let's start with the positives. The food at this restaurant is undoubtedly its strongest aspect. The quality and presentation of the dishes were commendable, and they were served in a reasonable amount of time. Despite the food being slightly expensive for a cinema complex, I have no complaints in this department. If I were solely basing my review on the food, it would undoubtedly receive a full five stars.

However, the issues I encountered throughout my visit left me disheartened. Firstly, the atmosphere was surprisingly quiet considering the restaurant's size. This lack of activity became understandable once we realized why. The cleanliness of the establishment was severely lacking. The booth we were seated in had visible cup marks, and the table hadn't been properly wiped down. The seating itself had grubby fingerprints, and we even discovered pieces of food on the carpet near our feet. The musky smell in the air further added to our disappointment.

To make matters worse, our experience was marred by the subpar service. One of our water glasses was clearly not cleaned properly, and the cutlery had smudge marks. Additionally, our waitress spent a significant amount of time behind the bar, seemingly engrossed in her phone, rather than attending to customers. This negligence was further validated when we overheard another table discussing similar concerns.

Overall, our visit to this restaurant was a letdown, with the only saving grace being the food itself. Considering the unsatisfactory cleanliness and underwhelming service, my companions and I have decided to explore alternative options for our upcoming celebration. It is my sincere hope that the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more enjoyable dining experience...

This place could be so great but it’s currently a huge disappointment. Location and physical atmosphere great. But was greeted at the door by the host who half walked me to a table while he had physical menus in his hand for someone else, he pointed for a far table for me to go to and said he’d bring me a menu. He never came and nor did anyone else. Eventually I just used the QR code on the table to order on my phone (which I would have done right away if I’d been told to order that way). Very limited menu. Too pricey for what you. I had questions re the menu but no one to ask. Now just hoping the order worked and my food comes. All the staff are far away on the other side of the restaurant. Not one has been over in 15 minutes despite the fact that there are three groups seated over here. Oh and I would really love a water right now but no one has offered anything of course. Oh and when I ordered on the phone it asked how much I wanted to tip! Why would I tip when you didn’t even take my order (let alone ignoring everyone...

Went there last night ordered a few beers & a pizza to have while watching mission impossible. We sat there & watched the movie, our pizza did not come during this time. They were shut after the movie had finished, we were looking forward to having the pizza as we did not have dinner. Unfortunately they let us down. Very disappointing. Now we have to waste our time & fuel to go back later today to correct this problem & get a refund. But I rang them this morning & they were very apologetic as they were very busy, we went back for lunch, they took great care of us, we got a extra pizza & a few beers on them.
