My friend and I ate at the Royal Oak Double Bay for lunch on the 24th, I had the Nachos with meat and my friend had the nachos with beans. 6 hours later we were both nauseous and had the worst headaches. I had the worst case of food poisoning and my friend was very sick too. I was unwell for about 2 days after, unable to really eat, constant throwing up and going bathroom, and super dehydrated. I understand things can be over looked, and I was never angry. I am although concerned with inability to get in contact with them, I called on the Sunday, and I also messaged their instagram, to let them know about what had happened and for them to check the quality of their dairy. I followed up a couple of days later with a comment on a picture pointing them in the direction of their DMs. I still have no heard back, and had no call back, and my stomach is still churning and I have to...

I've had a $26 Salmon Poke Bowl at the bistro and I have to say it was the worst Poke Bowl I've ever had in my life. The quantity was generous, but the food was totally tasteless. The whole dish had a slight taste of sesame dressing, but the amount of it was so small, the rice & other ingredients were almost dry. The raw salmon pieces were so large and chunky they made me gag. Besides, salmon is a fatty fish, it should never be served with avocado which is fatty too. Very unfortunate combination. Instead of serving a large quantity of tasteless food, they should concentrate on the taste. The chef should definitely try to sample the food when creating a dish. I could eat only a very small amount of rice and Eda beans and left the whole dish there. Lost $26. Besides, I had to ask the staff to clean the table while waiting...

We stopped in for an early dinner and a drink on our way home after a nearby function.

It was a warm, welcoming spot on a cool winter’s Friday afternoon, just before the long weekend.

We found a seat easily, grabbed a few drinks, and ordered food—then bumped into some friends who had the same idea.

What We Ordered: • Chicken Schnitzel – A solid pub classic. That said, I’ve had cheaper and better in lower-key pubs. It was fine, but far from the best schnitty I’ve had. • Beef Cheek Ragu Fettucine (Special) – This one was very good. Rich, tasty, and reasonably priced. A standout compared to the schnitzel.

We enjoyed a few beers, some good banter, and the casual, friendly vibe made for a great unplanned afternoon...

Rained off again and tried lunch here Chicken parmigiana as usual. Chicken was good and the crumb okay. The tomato base was okay and it did have a little diced ham on it but not enough to be interesting but plenty of cheese was on offer. The chips were really good they had good seasoning on them but skinny chips go cold quick ( not a complaint though). The salad was really nice just lose leaf with a nice dressing on it. 4.5 out of 5 plates cleaned.

Frequent visitor to watch sports with the well heeled. The food is always underwhelming. We are in a cost of living crisis and to charge almost $30 for the world's smallest grilled barramundi??? Last time I visited I had the bangers and mash, essentially basic sausage and mashed potatoes C'mon guys. Pub fair at fine dining $. I guess it's "double pay" but just charge a little more so I'm not going home hungry 😂
