Was too busy to eat or drink there, but not too busy to visit! Last time I was here, There was a couple in America saying “ We can still call her Taylor, even though she’s a girl” (FYI Taylor Swift 1989) Really love the atmosphere. The pub was well maintained. Staff were friendly. Loved having the tree in the beer garden. Reminded me of the oaks neutral Bay. There is also a back entrance, which is handy. Parking out the back. Enjoyed reading the sporting photos and photos famous people who have visited the pub. Also an area for live music. I like the way the poker machines were “encapsulated” within the Hotel. Have already booked a table for the 2nd of November 2029. I can celebrate 50 years of the east suburbs railway, my wife’s birthday and most importantly being able to catch a train to Woollahra station and walking to the pub. No doubt will visit for a meal and beer before then.

👀 Popular spot for lunch and dogs. Huge pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Great selection of food and drinks, classic pub food. 💥 The vibe is friendly and welcoming. Super popular this place can pack out! 💁🏼‍♀️ The service is minimal contact, no table service etc. 🍴 I ordered the salmon for lunch, which was cooked perfectly and served with a delicious lemon butter sauce. The salmon was flaky and moist on the inside, and the skin was crispy on the outside. The lemon butter sauce was tangy and creamy, and it complemented the salmon perfectly. I also brought my dogs, and they were welcome to sit at our feet while we ate. The staff were very accommodating and made sure that my dogs had plenty of water. ✨ The Golden Sheaf is a great option for a casual lunch with friends or family. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Came for a team lunch and the food and service was amazing! I was going to order something small from the main menu but their Tuesday specials include a Burger (any burger from the menu) plus chips and a drink for $20. I couldn’t skip past it and glad I choose the burger. The chips were tasty and so was the burger than comes with 2 sauces. Customer service was also fantastic! The waitress at the food ordering counter was super nice and helpful, the guys bringing the drinks and lunches out were also champs bringing us extra cutlery and napkins etc. to our table. It was also toasty and warm in their undercover area - lunch was perfect!

Review of Golden Sheaf Hotel, Double Bay, NSW:

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Sheaf Hotel in Double Bay, NSW, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This charming boutique hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, making my stay truly memorable.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff, who made the check-in process quick and efficient. The lobby exudes an elegant and inviting ambiance, setting the tone for the rest of my stay. The attention to detail in the hotel's decor, from the tasteful artwork to the cozy furnishings, immediately made me feel at home.

The room I stayed in was nothing short of delightful. It was spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully designed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring the nearby attractions. The amenities in the room were modern and convenient, including a flat-screen TV, a well-stocked minibar, and complimentary Wi-Fi, ensuring I had everything I needed for a pleasant stay.

One of the highlights of my visit was the dining experience at the hotel's restaurant. The on-site eatery boasts an impressive menu that caters to a variety of tastes. Whether I craved a hearty Australian steak or a delicate seafood dish, the talented chefs at Golden Sheaf Hotel delivered exceptional culinary delights that satisfied my palate. Additionally, the restaurant's stylish and cozy setting made dining there a pleasure.

The hotel's location in Double Bay is undoubtedly a major advantage. It's nestled in a charming neighborhood with plenty of upscale shops, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance. I enjoyed taking leisurely strolls along the picturesque streets, and the nearby public transport made it easy for me to explore the rest of Sydney's attractions.

Another notable aspect of my stay was the outstanding customer service provided by the hotel staff. They were always eager to assist with any inquiries or requests I had, going above and beyond to ensure my stay was as enjoyable as possible.

The Golden Sheaf Hotel also boasts a rooftop area that offers breathtaking views of the city skyline and the nearby harbor. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing, sipping on a well-crafted cocktail while enjoying the sunset.

In conclusion, my experience at the Golden Sheaf Hotel in Double Bay, NSW, was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel's elegant ambiance, top-notch amenities, delicious dining options, and attentive staff combined to create an unforgettable stay. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a charming and luxurious getaway in the heart of Sydney. I attended the Sheaf at the weekend  with friends  for a birthday,  expecting  " authentic Eurpoean alpine lodge experience the moment you walk through our doors" as promised on the website.

However, I was informed that there was no snow machine in effect, which was the sole reason I had booked a table for a Saturday night when the place would be packed and noisy, rather than mid week when it would be less crazy. Bistro staff infirmed me they knew nothing of the snow machine which apparenty runs "Friday & Saturday evening when the courtyard comes alive with snow machines ". Bar staff also told me that they knew nothing about operation times of the snow machine,  that it 'just goes off randomly at times'.

I was sorely disappointed  at the lack of any effort to make the place look vaguely like a ski lodge as the website had insinuated. I saw no "snowy inspired hallway ... booths complete with fur rugs, cushions & blankets for optimum warmth...[or] Courtyard Chairlift".

I love a novelty dress up event. It makes happy to attend things like this and invite my friends,  particularly for a special occasion.  This has put me off returning to the Sheaf and I have advised others that the theme is not actually themed at all beyond vaguely alpine themed cocktails and a snacks.

The one saving grace from the night was that the food was good (cheese fondue, falafel and mushroom pizza). That and the fact that my friends are a great bunch,  whether the themed event lives up to...

Absolutely ridiculous behaviour by management and staff. Not only did we have a table booked for a function and we went to the bar at around 7.30 and then all of a sudden people started going to our table. No mention of a time warning no mention from any staff members or manager what was going on. Poor communication skills and poor customer behaviour for everyone one that works there. After that we moved into the main bar area even though we shouldn’t have the communication between staff, managers and technology so poor. We saw they had a juke box available put 2 dollars in, then be met with a security guard telling us that the juxbox even though fully functional, wasn't going to change the song due to the DJ on. I then went to the bar and was talking to what looked like the bar manager on duty her name perceived to be as “maya” told me nothing could be done.

Honestly appalled by the lack of customer service or care at this venue. How you continue to operate with such disrespect and absolute disgust towards customer feedback. Pretending that they aren’t hearing what consumers are saying is not only inconsiderate to the needs of the consumer but also just rude plus inappropriate.!

Sorry to add to this the manager on duty then approached my other friends claiming that she didn't hear me and then she could then give me the refund, this was after i asked for her name. Honestly save your money and go else where or just be careful of awful communication and scam...
