I simply went in to pickup and pay for the order and had a really poor experience. This is how it happenned from my perspective:
I walked in and approached the waitresses and told them I was here to pickup my order of biryani and gulab jamun
-She asked do I have the name for the order, -I said yes, its Max, Max Smith Then she asked me "can I see the name"
-I said do you want to see my I.D? She said no she just needs to see the name on the order, and which one I went through, doordash or menulog? (I didnt go through either)
I told her that i ordered on the website and went into my emails to show her the receipt and she could see the receipt and my name Max Smith.
-She then looked confused and asked me was I sure that it was for Sankalp, I replied yes and she wandered around a few seconds before walking to the bag next to the door that was there for pickup, checked the receipt and said yes this is the one. This whole scenario took 2 minutes so far. EDIT: She wandered about and then stpod there with a look that seemed to be half confusion and contemplatiom after asking me if my order was for sankalp, not even looking at the bags on the table for about 15 seconds before saying that.
Then I asked her does she mind if I give her my coins on hand and pay the rest on card? (5 coins worth $4.70)
She said this VERBATIM! "No sorry we do not take split payments on this order but if you want you can give me two dollars and pay $20 on card."
To say the least I was very happy to leave her company and didn't buy samosas either, just incase they own that shop too they will not be getting amy business from me.

Read morefood is absolutely poor... I have seen chef magic in this restaurant. they can be better if they simply change the name because chicken chukka is more similar to kadai chicken and on top lamb rogan josh they sprinkled some crushed pepper and called lamb pepper ... pre boiled curried lamb they managed to serve as lamb tikka...please just a request ... dont make us fool....but if anyone go there for a vegetarian food like masala dosa ...oothappam etc is good. there is no cordination for staff so you never know what you going to get and who will get if you going with family. we were 8 and ordered 4 butter rotti for kids and 10 plain rotti for adults. but when we all finished with plain rotti, again after 10 minutes 4 butter rotti came. so guess what to do ? when you ask tea, they said, they got only ginger tea. so out of 8 .... 5 of them said no, and we ordered 3. but after 30 minutes they served plain tea..... so again guess.. who is the fool. 3 of them asked where is ginger in it? ...again guess ....?... after 10 minutes answer from chef "this...
Read moreSo I have read couple of other reviews as well. And the staff's response to reviews are similar - "It is either the problem with customer's taste or understanding otherwise Sankalp's food is the best".
I had the same problem. I ordered daal fry and it was very very salty. After informing staff, they said it is always like that and other people like it. He got me another one and it was worse than the first one. I think even the oil was not good. We did not eat it and left it. I informed the staff again and he said it is like this only and people like it. So it was the problem with our taste. I wanted to pay for both but they did not accept. I don't want Sankalp's free food let alone the paid one.
Dear Sankalp - I invite you to come with me and try daal fry in some very good restaurants in Sydney. You yourself will see why you have got such bad ratings. Atleast listen to your customer and starting owning up...
