I was so excited to have a special Valentine's Day dinner with Sensei Sushi, but it ended up being a complete disaster. I ordered my food well in advance, requesting a delivery window between 6:45-7:00 pm, but I didn't receive my order until after 9 pm. When I called at 7 pm to check on my order, they had no idea where it was, even though they said it was ready.
Things got even worse when the Uber delivery guy, who was on a bike of all things, was given the wrong address which was far away from my place. After a lot of back and forth, he said he couldn't deliver it and would return the food to the restaurant, but he never did! I called Sensei Sushi multiple times, but it took them 50 minutes to finally deliver my meal.
While the food was very good, the whole experience was a huge letdown. It felt like they didn't care about my order and I had to keep chasing them for updates. Sensei Sushi needs to up their game on busy days like Valentine's Day. They should be able to handle the volume of orders without compromising quality or timeliness. They also need to communicate better when things go wrong and fix problems quickly.
I think they need to take a hard look at their delivery system and make some changes to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. I also expect them to file a complaint about the delivery guy with Uber and make sure he doesn't do this to anyone else. If you need it, I can give you the order number and the name of the delivery guy.
TL;DR: while the food was good, Sensei Sushi's customer service and operations need some serious improvements. It was definitely not the romantic Valentine's Day dinner I...

We have ordered take away from Sensei Sushi before because the quality of the food is good. However, the customer experience at the restaurant is terrible and somewhat disrespectful.
My partner and I decided to go there to dine in and we drove from lane cove to this place. Quite a ride!
What we didnāt know is that they require bookings and donāt welcome walk ins very well. The restaurant was clearly empty but it seems like they struggle to meet the dine in and takeaway demand, so even though it had only 4 people eating there when we arrived, they said they would see if they could fit us (??).
The lady who met us was so rude and she came back saying that she could fit us, but sounding like she was doing us some favour?
We sat down but felt terrible being there and after looking at the menu we decided to order take away but guess what? The same combo that was available on the dine in menu wasnāt available for take away. When we asked them why, she said that maybe even for dining in it would not be available.
But we have to order online through the QR code for dining in, so what is the catch?
Well, we ended up leaving the restaurant with a terrible impression and frustrated because all we wanted was to have a nice time and eat good food. That was the reason we went there.
Please be aware that the website doesnāt inform you to book a table prior going to the restaurant. So it would be worth it giving them a call if you donāt want to be mistreated by them or even worse waist your time going there.
We do hope sensei sushi improves their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a regular customer of this venue, normally I order takeaway and the food is always delicious and fresh.
However, Itās a shame that the dine-in experience was not the best. I understand businesses are busy sometimes but when you have an empty dining room (even if the tables are booked) and they decide to accept a Walk-in customer they should have a good attitude and a friendly service. Otherwise, it is an incomplete experience and it left us a sour evening as we didnāt feel welcome. Then when my partner asked something about the booking in a nice way, the reply received was bitter and not friendly.
Something to work on, we both have been in hospitality for a very long time and we always try our best to accomodate and make the customers feel welcome and happy no matter how unhappy...
