My experience at the RSL seven hills RSL is always great. Few family members are members of the club and we always have a great time. Reception staff always welcome me. However I would of loved to have given full starts but unfortunately 2 of the restaurants there let down the club as a whole. I have yet to try the buffet which I'm looking forward to as I hear the food is much better than alpha & co bistro. Some staff are exceptionally nice, and go above and beyond. While there are a handful that come off incredibly snobbish and what seems to be fake. There's constant issues with the kitchen staff and orders being messed up, which isn't the issue until it becomes consistent, but it's how they seem to be handling it. I witnessed what seemed to be a manager, supervisor or someone with authority shouting and showing aggressive behaviour after I made a complaint about my order to a fellow staff member who seemed new. I can say for one thing if that's how management is treating their staff especially in front of customers with having the area being so open, it's a risk and I was very much considering reporting it. That's completely uncalled for and disgusting behaviour. Might I add, I have no idea how this restaurant got a health and safety recognition when I literally found multiple food bits on cutlery, absolutely revolting!! The iron bark cafe is definitely better in my opinion than the bistro however it seems like some of the staff don't know what they're doing do you guys even train your staff properly? I can imagine both businesses booming higher than where they're currently at, but if this toxic masculinity/workplace continues to go the way it does, there doesn't look like alot of hope for the businesses futures. Read moreSo disappointed… we REALLY wanted this food to be good because our kids loved the playground, the dining area was nice to sit in and parking was easy. We eat out at least twice per week and we were hoping to be regulars here.
But unfortunately, the food was so bad, you couldn’t pay us to eat there.
We arrived at 2:30pm on a Monday. Asked if it was ok to order - with no customers in sight, we thought they were closed. They reassured us they were open.
3 entrees + 3 mains = almost $200 (we happily pay this at other places but the food wasn’t even edible let alone good).
Food took 30 mins. Came out COLD - like from the fridge.
Mushroom Arancini balls = flavorless, drenched in cranberry jam - really odd.
Garlic bread was stale, dead cold.
Cauliflower bites were “ok” but also came out cold, in a tiny serving ($23) and had weird sauce.
Schnitzel was COLD, overcooked and served with “weird full cream” labeled as mushroom sauce - gross to say the least.
Chicken potato mash was also stone cold. Veges were soggy and gross beyond words. Beans weren’t even trimmed.
Chips were actually ok… however, they were also cold and served unhygienically - in a basket with no lining and no way to properly clean. Gross.
Given we were their only customers, we are perplexed with why everything was so cold.
There was no point complaining, I just wish I checked reviews before we wasted our time and money.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the experience I had at your establishment on December 10, 2023, at 5 pm. I ordered a pizza, and despite placing my order before my two companions, it arrived even before theirs. This lack of coordination was highly unprofessional and left a negative impression.
Furthermore, when the pizza finally arrived, the plating was subpar. The presentation did not meet the basic standards one would expect from a dining establishment. Additionally, the behavior of your female employees was unacceptable. One of them made a derogatory comment about another customer’s acceptance of their pizza order, which was completely unprofessional and disrespectful.
As a paying customer, I expect to receive quality service and food that meets reasonable expectations. Unfortunately, my experience at your establishment fell far short of this standard. The Seven Hills RSL has provided the worst service I have ever encountered.
I strongly urge you to reconsider the training and professionalism of your employees. It is imperative that they understand the importance of providing courteous and efficient service to all patrons.
