We dine in yesterday evening at Silver Jade for the very first time. Great Service and delicious feed. Loved it.
I asked my son, Ali Sheerazi (my buddy) to write a review on our overall experience at Silver Jade. So he wrote the below.
âFor Fatherâs Day, the beloved SheeraziFamily Aus had treated Baba to a Chinese restaurant. Being in close proximity to our house, it was quite a nice change from all the times we would travel 1hr+ towards the city to the new 10 minute ETA. Upon arriving at the destination we were greeted with a restaurant environment that was a very nice balance of both sophistication and comfort. The polished wooden doors and wall disguised the kitchen from plain sight whilst giving a traditional Chinese touch. The tables were generous in their size allowing for a family to comfortably sit and have a good time in the restaurant. The hospitality of the waitress was great with a very kind and respectful demeanour and also just a pleasure to speak to.
For the entree we had prawn chips which is quite a standard for our outings in Chinese restaurants. The prawn chips were lighter in its oils while providing adequate flavour, although sacrificing a little bit of crunch, it meant that the oily aftertaste was not as apparent which is quite a win in my books.
Additionally we had prawn toasties. These were ordered last minute as an entree out of curiosity as we had bought some packaged frozen ones from the supermarket before and seemed to have liked them at home.
The restaurantâs prawn toasty completely changed the definition of whatâs previously in our minds. The crunch of the toast met with a layer of prawn meant that both crunch and flavour had combined to boost our entree experience to the next level.
For our mains we had ordered 2 vegetarian fried rice with prawn, fried fish with sweet and sour sauce and curried king prawn. The rice had enough vegetables and prawns to be enjoyed by itself whilst still allowing itself to be a foundation that can be added with fish and sweet and sour sauce or curried king prawn. The rice was all you can ask it to be for it to serve its purpose and was intentionally made to be a little on the harder side such that it doesnât drown or get overwhelmed by the toppings added to it. The fried fish felt to be freshly caught out the back of the restaurant. The sweet and sour sauce added some sweetness to our overall quite savoury order which also made it another case of doing all it can and even more such that it can serve its purpose. The curried king prawn followed much in the same vein and ended our experience very well.
Although business was flowing, it was still surprising to not see more people dining in on a Friday night. So if anyone has a free night and crave some Chinese food in the area, I would definitely recommend...

I happened across Silver Jade quite by accident whilst waiting for colleagues; even though it's only a few steps away from a customer's premises, its unimposing facade meant I'd passed by it for years without noticing. Now that I've experienced their food and service though, I definitely won't be passing by without stopping ever again!
Our group was cordially and warmly greeted on entry, service was very courteous and helpful - even jocular - and the food was well prepared and promptly served.
Prices are below what I'd normally expect to pay at a restaurant; anyone complaining about the price is likely more accustomed to food court take-aways (mayhaps one needs a palate destroyed by years of pot abuse to be able to handle those?).
The only (admittedly minor) complaint I could muster would be their not stocking imported Chinese beer - but it is Narellan after all, and in an area where VB seems to be the ultimate refreshment, I was glad that Silver Jade had some better beers on hand.
All in all an excellent experience and I'm already organising a large family evening there - in addition to planning many business lunches in the future, at every...
Read morePoor, although our waitress was friendly the lady at the register was unfriendly and unattentive. Food was distasteful. It took 40 minutes to get our first dish out, we had a movie to catch so as soon as the dish came out we asked to take it away. (There were only two other tables with 2-3 people on each so not busy at all). On top of that, we continued to wait for the other dish to be cooked to take home, just to be polite... we should have just walked out. The lady didn't even apologise as she took our money. We will never come again, much prefer their competitor Narellan Court Chinese just a...
