Extremely Disappointed with My Experience & Being Accused of Something I Didn’t Do. 14 positive reviews and this if my very first negative one, that speaks volumes of what i’m feeling about the situation.

I visited this store on Fri, 20th Dec 2024, hoping to give it a second chance after a disappointing experience last year. Sadly, this visit has confirmed our decision never to return or recommend this business.

The store environment was overstimulating, chaotic, and disorganised, which made it overwhelming for someone unfamiliar with how things work. One staff member rushed us through the ordering process and another staff member was repeatedly slamming a metal bin thing, adding to the already loud and uncomfortable atmosphere. After the multiple slams, I made a lighthearted comment to my partner: “If she slams it again, I’ll slam my head.” This was a private joke between us, not directed at staff in any way and not spoken to/aimed in conversation at them either.

While we were outside trying our ice cream, a slim blonde staff member approached me and immediately mentioned she had grounds to ban/send me away based on a comment I had made. Confused, I asked her what exactly I was being accused of, and she claimed I had said, “If she slams it again, I’ll slam her head.” This accusation was completely untrue. I calmly explained that my comment was directed at myself, not anyone else, and clarified that what I had actually said was, “If she slams it again, I’ll slam my head.” I told her multiple times that I would never resort to violence to her or her team. She then mentioned that management monitors the visual and audio footage - where I told her to check what I had said because I certainly didn’t say what she had accused me of. This interaction unnecessarily escalated the situation and left me feeling uncomfortable and confused.

Before this confrontation, I had noticed this same blonde girl and a dark-haired younger staff member (with a built appearance - she was the one - not happily - serving me) engaging in a gossip session with at least 3 other staff members while making direct eye contact with me. Feeling confused, I even commented to my partner, “I think they’re talking about me.” This behaviour felt judgmental and gave the impression that I was unwelcome from the start.

I believe the two young girls, especially the dark-haired girl and the blonde who approached me, need to fact-check before making such damaging accusations. I understand they’re young, but defamation of character is not something they should be starting their lives with, nor should it be taken lightly.

Accusing a customer of violent behaviour without verifying the facts is both inappropriate and damaging to someone’s personality and damaging to the business. Misunderstandings can happen, but how they are handled matters. In this instance, it was mishandled at every stage.

What should have been a small treat after a hard day turned into a stressful and confusing experience. The situation left me so annoyed that I cancelled our plans to see Christmas lights afterwards, and even now, the following morning, I still feel the need to address it. We will not be returning, nor will we recommend this...

This review is directed specifically to the blonde woman with acne who I had the displeasure of meeting yesterday -

I went to this place for the first and last time yesterday under the recommendation of a friend, and to say that I was disappointed is a gross understatement.

While waiting for my food, one of the workers came over to me and asked if I wanted my food takeaway. I replied "Yes". She then said in a hushed and impolite tone "You don't need to be rude" and quickly walked away. I was shocked by the accusation, considering I'd only said one word to this person. When they came back with our food, I even went out of my way to clarify - "I wasn't being rude to you, I just simply answered your question". The young woman didn't seem to appreciate me trying to fix the situation, even going so far as to make an annoyed face and replying "Have a good day" in a sarcastic tone before again walking away. In that moment, my wife tried to get her attention to no avail. She quickly left ignoring my wife's calls to come back and speak to us.

I don't know what kind of personal issues you have, be it you hate your job, life, the way you look in the mirror etc, but there was no need for having such a foul attitude towards my wife and I.

You work in an ice creamery. You are not a human behaviour expert, so please do not try to be one. For future reference, do not try and interpret what someone else is thinking or feeling when they give you a simple answer to a simple question. You not only embarrass yourself with your attitude and behaviour, you embarrass the entire business.

tldr; Don't bother going to this place. Horrible atmosphere, the workers don't want to be there and take their personal issues out on the paying customers....

News flash this place specializes in frozen custard dessert and not really in coffee ;) just saying hahaha!!

Last time i was here over 2 years ago hence the long time ago till my revisit.. cause there are too many places for me to get my sweet tooth fix at :)! Went for a swim aroumd Camden way and was keen for something sweet in the area and this place was my first choice seeing as it hit the spot the last time :D.

Last time i was here i had a tasty dinner next door at Antico pizza and then came over here for dessert, got me caramel fusge crepes and choc fudge brownie, both were super tasty more so the crepe cause I'm a pancake kinda guy :D!!

This time around i got the weekly special frozen custard which was butterscotch and i got some mix its tossed in with it :). Just like cold rock but with Frozen custard, also got a gooey fudge caramely cookie in a skillet with vanilla custard on the side :D!! Truth be told I'm a big eater but even this tasty cookie felt a bit heavy on the hips lucky for 2 mates to help me out with it :)!

The girls that work there are super friendly and very keen to help your way aroun the menu on what they have on offer :)

By the way the coffee is nothing to write home about .. but you would be much better off with a juice, soft drink or their tasty thick shake mixes they have on offer :)!!

For the totally different as per usual dessert place but yet very tasty dessert it is an easy 4 stars for me, definitely my got to sweetness treat for my many more adventures out in the...
