On the hunt for the best Indian restaurants in Sydney, we found this nice little restaurant in the heart of Narellan!
We are definitely coming back for more!!!
Just took the right off Camden Valley way before the traffic lights and the road lead to this place. Plenty of parking near the venue, may get busy during weekends since its shared by multiple restaurants.
Nice and cozy entrance and themed in the desi style. You can grab the menu brochure before you cross the 2nd entrance. As we found our way into the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely Punjabi family. Very courteous and friendly! The atmosphere resonated Punjabi culture and history by the props and pictures on the wall.
We were asked to choose a table to sit and they served pappad and mint yogurt chutney while we waited on our meal to get ready.
Our order : Entree - Reshmi Chicken Kebab (4pcs). Main course - Butter Naan, Butter Roti, Methi Chicken and Madras Chicken. Dessert - Mango Lassi.
Reshmi Chicken Kebab - 3/5 Quantity felt less but the chicken was well cooked and tasted well with the mint yogurt chutney they served it with on the sizzler.
Butter Naan - 5/5 Quantity was good and the bread was fresh! Easy to tear apart.
Butter Roti - 5/5 Quantity was good and tasted well with the butter that was smeared on it.
Methi Chicken - 5/5 Quantity seemed a little less and the chicken pieces could have been smaller. But the gravy was yum, so yum and went well with the roti and naan!! Chicken pieces were succulent and well cooked. Little more spice and quantity and I would buy it everyday if I were living close to this place. It would pair well with plain rice too.
Madras Chicken - 4/5 Quantity was good. It had red and green capsicum which is something I don't personally prefer. And since my native is Chennai (aka Madras) this gravy does not come anywhere close to the chicken gravies that we make in chennai. Had a strong flavour of coconut in it. Tasted more like a thai or Kerala dish. So if you love coconut then this is the dish for you!!
Mango Lassi - 5/5 One of the best we have had in a long time! The tall stainless steel tumbler it was served in made it look authentic. Less of sugar and sourness made the deal!
What a pleasant meal to wind up...

Not sure if left any review previously apart from rating however all I can say when I think of Indian, this is the first and only place that comes in my head. My fiance is not Indian but her and her kids love the food. All those other places aka Indian restaurants in Harris Park or anywhere else in Sydney are nowhere near in terms of quality, service and the taste. Love royal curry house and we will always be coming back.
First time we went there was a couple of years ago for Valentines and have never stopped getting takeaways from this place since then.
Lamb, Goat, Chicken curries just melt in your mouth. There is so much flavour which I can't even describe. Go to veg curry is always paneer. Can't help myself since that's my favourite always whether at home or a restaurant.
For entrees we have had Shami kebab, onion pakoras, aloo tikki and papdi chaat. Never had issues in terms of taste of India i tell you purely because I have had all these dishes from this restaurant.
We have been there for dine in as well and the service by staff is amazing. Friendly polite and professional.
Only issue is thay we can review once and not every time we go there to dine in or takeaway. Would give 50 stars if we could. Keep up the amazing work. Best Indian we have had in Sydney.
Looking forward to trying the pizzas next....
Read moreUpdate - The owner asked me to leave a review in the future so let me add a comment. The food served to our party was above satisfactory without ever threatening to being anything more special that that. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't by far the worst Indian food I've had and would adequately satisfy a craving (although the price was quite expensive and not proportional to the quality of the food served) but the rating was mostly for the customer service. Server was quite short with us and seemed that she had somewhere more important to be or someone more important to serve (although the restaurant was less than half empty). She hastily took down the order without properly confirming it and incorrectly added a dish onto our order. We pointed this out as soon as she delivered it but she flat out refused to conceive that the error was hers and basically told us to eat it since it was already made. I also pointed the error out to another server and also the cashier, both of whom shrugged and laughed it off. At more than $20 for a main dish, not really a laughing matter, but I guess thats the level of focus or importance they give to...
