Silver Palace Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

Very disappointed. Have ordered here before and had no trouble. Usually order take away because the decor reminds me of a hospital waiting room. This particular time went in and placed our order and were advised that it would be 20-25 minutes.

A few other people came in and placed orders, two couples even came and dined in. About 30 minutes had passed and all other orders had been completed and we asked what was happening with our order. They advised it was almost ready so we continued waiting. Keeping in mind, we had only ordered two dishes, a rice and spring rolls, we were very frustrated as we saw the two couples leave having completed their dine in experiences.

Finally they came out with our food and gave us a bottle of drink to compensate the hour and 15 minute wait.

When we got home, we were incredibly angry to find that the spring rolls were stone cold, the salt and pepper chicken had no seasoning and they had given us combination chow mein instead of the vegetarian option we had ordered.

We called the store to advise that the order was wrong and they said they would quickly deliver the correct meals. An hour and a half later, we were presented with the correct meal, albeit it was now stone cold again but couldn’t be bothered complaining.

Even cold, the chow mein was horrible and only a small portion got eaten.

This was our go to Chinese restaurant but we won’t be...

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I have been frequenting this establishment for over 12 years. I used to rave to all and sundry about the quality, quantity and price.

Recently something or someone has changed.

The dim sims are more dim than sim. With vegetables means peas and carrots and I think this restaurant is single-handedly keeping the onion farmers in business. The special fried rice is now not so special. It's now your basic rice with egg. What happened to all the chicken, beef, pork and prawns?

The containers used to be packed tight, lids bulging. Now it's a loosely packed, three quarters full disappointment wrapped in a clear plastic box.

Colin, if you ever read this, things need to change back to the way they were. Until then I will be searching for a new Chinese takeaway.

EDIT: That's it! I am never going back. Told a 30 min wait. 1 hour 15 mins later. Stuffed up the order 3 times. Items missing. Ripped me off. I wish I could swear on this thing. I have literally spent thousands of dollars at this store. No more! Too many chances. Too...

Been here a few times with my little family of 3. Always delicious and fast service. Sweet n sour pork, Mongolian beef, satay chicken, special fried rice with deep fried dim sims and spring rolls. Absolutely amazing flavours and love the vegetables and capsicum in the dishes.

Unfortunately I forgot the young ladies name but has "two N's in it" she had incredible service and super helpful with all our requests. She was heavily multi-tasking many tables and the phones, didn't look like she was flustered at all! Well done. 10 stars!

The older chap. I'm assuming the owner was always one step ahead, would you like fresh plates? Containers for the leftovers? Honestly thought he was reading our minds 😂 He was very helpful and friendly.

Love this little gem.
