extremely disappointed. just finished dinner there. bought a mixed plate for myself and and chicken souvlaki for my son. these were great. my son was still hungry. so ordered him another chicken souvlaki. this is when disaster struck both with the food and the service. you could see the flames on the grill and the owner dowsing them out. i knew this couldnt be good. suffice to say the 2nd chicken souvlaki was served burnt, and was unpleasant to eat, all you could taste was burnt black yuck. but thats not the reason for the review. the reason for the review is horrible and dishonest manner the owner served this burnt chicken souvlaki, in the process of cutting up the pita bread that comes with the souvlaki 1 of the 6 pieces that he cut it up into fell on the floor. rather than get a fresh pita and redo it he decided to plate up the pita with the missing piece, then place the chicken souvlaki on top of the pita to hide the fact it was missing a piece. all you had to do was redo the pita, and serve what was paid for. but you decided to deceive and rip off your customer. well you got caught, hope it...

I’ve tried just about all of the Greek gyros / street food in Sydney, and can honestly say Souvlaki George in Sans Souci is hands down the best there is.
I ordered a special mixed pork and chicken gyros, and it was the freshest, tastiest, tenderest gyros i’ve ever experienced, even beating anything i can recall having in Greece. The meat is slow cooked on a custom souvla over charcoal, marinaded perfectly and super tender. The special sauce that was in the gyros is just amazing!
I also got a lamb plate with hot chips and Greek salad to share, and once again the lamb off the souvla was full of flavour and super tender.
The service was very friendly, and it had a nice ambience eating in.
I highly recommend Souvlaki George to anyone who wants to experience Greek street...
Read moreI have tried the lamb, chicken and pork before and they are all delicious. Today I had a lamb plate with pita bread, taramasalata and a luscious greek salad for $29, it was enough for two of us and there were leftovers.
If you want to eat there, there are tables for about two dozen people, 4 inside tables and 3 on the footpath.
There are about a dozen one hour parking spots in Rocky Point Road and more in Newcombe street, in the laneway behind the shopfront complex and in Bonney Street.
Chef Donny and his lovely assistant Puna will look after you.
They are open every day...
