visited the shop today to say my sentiment about my purchase to their shop last 11 Feb 2025 but I was advised to call instead. The lady in the shop said they cant guarantee freshness as it has shell which I find unacceptable. The lady in the shop was rude and we end up not having a good conversation. She told me that I don’t have a proof as I don’t have the receipt anymore, I told her well I can show my bank history that I had a purchase and she can check the system record. She said no, there’s no way to trace and wouldn’t accept it.

Called the landline and was able to talk to the guy who I think is the owner. The guy was very rude and says that I won’t be able to get a refund as I didn’t go back to them right the next day or same day.

I explained it to him that we are very busy and have kids to attend to making our days very busy. I couldn’t find time to pass by after work as by then they’re already close.

Our conversation went bad the owner was screaming and rude on phone and that triggers me to be angry as well and got over whelmed in the heated conversation. He kept saying about refund but I clearly told him that I am not after for a refund and instead I called to let my sentiment and concerns be heard. He then replied, well even if you buy in Woolworths you won’t get your money back. I replied well you are mistaken and I made a big mistake that I bought to your shop. Had it been with Woolworths I would have gotten my money back! I hanged up as the conversation gets more heated.

They don’t even deserve One star here. Very poor customer service.

It’s a shame that the owner is not even apologetic to their customer. We don’t often buy sea food due of the price hence I don’t think it’s NOT fair to just throw more than 1.6kg of crabs (17.99$/kg)...

Really good fish and chips, very close second to ones I’ve tried on the Gold Coast and Surry Hills - for a local suburban fish and chips shop, this would be my recommendation, you won’t find a better cooked battered fish in St Marys.

The fish used for the regular battered fish&chips was tender/soft and flaky - it could be a Basa or similar species. The batter was light and crispy enough.

The fish was fresh, saw them battering it before frying.

The chips were well cooked and crispy.

Fish cocktails and potato scallops were good, same as any other fish and chip shop really. I prefer the battered fish though over the fish cocktails.

The shop is small and they do sell fresh seafood as it’s also a seafood marketshop.

If you visit in store - once you order, you receive a printed receipt with your order number, once your order is done, they call it out, a very easy/simple ordering process.

They accept Visa and MasterCard/Eftpos however there is a $5 minimum, better than other shops with a $10 or $15 minimum but not great that there is a minimum purchase amount.

Was thinking about getting a can of coke for $1.50 after I had already ordered but saw the $5 minimum sign so put it back.

Prices on UberEats at the time of this review were pretty much the same as in store, so kudos to them for not price gouging like nearly every other shop on UberEats.

I bought a 2 bowl Raw fish Friday the 22/10/21, last week.I never had a very bad Raw fish in my whole life. When I taste it, it was off and didn't eat it, it went straight to the Bin. I went today the 29/10/21,to see there fish and chips. My my Daughter bought 2 cocktails fish and chips. We came to the Car, we eat on our way back home. Some of the fish was okay and 2 pieces in my coctail fish and chips and 1 piece of fish in my Daughter meal was very off and we smell it when we put it close to our mouth. Some of the Fish was like old not fresh taste. We were going to go back to return it, but My son call to take him to work as He travel to Northern Beaches. So $25 of meals go in the Bins again. Please you collected money from Customers, it not Off or Old. It Money, but to cook and sell your Goods, make sure it yummy and fresh, and your Customers happy and you are Happy too.
