The first order after the name change to Exotic. Not impressed at all. Chicken 65 was no near to what it has been in the past. Very dry. Double fried. Did not look fresh at all. $19.90 for this is overrated. Looks like it was made sometime today or yesterday and fried again today after my order. No sides or even a slice of lemon or chillies or onions, except the mint chutney which has added sugar. Unbelievable. Just dry small pieces of double fried chicken with no moisture at all. Will never order again, atleast not this dish. To.make the matter worse, the owner responded by saying the photo was not genuine. Defensive. The photo was taken after each one of our family members tried a piece of chicken and had to spit it out to the bin and the remaining was what you can see in the photo. Chicken 65 is a very popular street food in india where I come from. Reason it's popular is it is done after your order is taken and without anything on the side it is a pleasure to eat because it's fresh and it is not double fried with something which was left over from an other day OR the chicken itself is not fresh. When a owner is defensive on poor quality of food, it's a sign of very less experience in service industry. It doesn't matter what else you run with this experience. You have to own the mistakes. If there was a 0 star rating for service I would have given that. I had booked this restaurant for my engagement ceremony and I had the most disappointing experience with the owners. Firstly we had booked the restaurant side and were told that we would be allowed speakers, just 3 days before the event the owner calls up and says that they won’t allow us to bring our own speakers for the side and we had to book the hall side which was not what we had budgeted for. FYI the hall side had no bookings so the owner just wanted extra cash. We had paid $100 for the speakers to be used and the owner dint allow us to test the speakers in the day, he kept saying 5pm. When my brother tested the speakers in the evening, the speakers weren’t even working which lead to us arranging our own speakers and causing a delay in the start of our event whereby all our guests were waiting! The owner was actually present when the speakers were being tested but till date he hasn’t refunded us back the $100 for the speakers that we hired which weren’t even working! The owner was really unprofessional and rude in the day, he made issues with us using the ice for our alcohol as if ice costs $100 each cube. I rarely do reviews, but this beautiful restaurant, nestled in the heart of St Mary's main strip, deserves my time. I started ordering from this restaurant through doordash and their attention to detail + beautifully packaged meals were nothing short of amazing, plus the food I ordered always arrived HOT! I have ordered butter chicken, Korma chicken, mango chicken, rice, cheese naan, garlic naan and every dish is an 11/10. Went into their restaurant with my husband and brother.
