So, last night was my son’s 18th birthday, so we went to this KBBQ for dinner. We ordered the $46pp set menu, we knew we were a little late as we arrived at around 8:30pm, so we ate fairly quickly as they advertised they were closing at 10pm. My son, my daughter and I were eating as fast as we could. Approaching to around 9:20pm, the guy who was cooking for us changed to high heat to cook some of the pork, there were only 2 pieces of pork ribs, he put them on the side, so that meant they were ready to eat, but they were raw when my kids had them, and we told him about it and he pretty much just kept cooking the next new dish (chicken) and ignored us, so we put them back on the grill. I was concerned with the chicken that he cooked and asked my kids not to eat them as they looked cooked outside (burnt) but they were chicken… chicken takes time to cook through unfortunately so we don’t get food poisoning…. I was disappointed as we were trying our best to eat as fast as possible, but if the food wasn’t cooked properly, they shouldn’t serve it, as we couldn’t eat it. I didn’t make a scene of it as it was late and I understand they were rushing to close the restaurant. But then I thought to myself, I was paying the premium for each of us, that wasn’t right. I just felt like they could at the very least cook the meat for another few minutes… Look, to be fair, everything else was pleasant, they changed the grill every time they cooked new meat, portion was good, they were fine to refill side dishes, but yeah, it was just really disappointing at the end with the raw meat. We left at around 9:45pm. Moral of the story, don’t go at 8:30pm for the bbq set, they couldn’t serve or should I say… didn’t really want to serve the full set in time to their closing time. It just wasn’t a pleasant experience for us unfortunately. And we were glad we haven’t had...

We came to Stoneage Korean BBQ in Hurstville to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable experience. The restaurant had a lively and warm atmosphere, perfect for gatherings with friends and family. The interior was clean and modern, with efficient smoke ventilation systems above each table, which made the dining experience comfortable even during peak grilling.

The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. Every cut of meat we ordered from the marinated beef to the pork belly was high quality, well-seasoned, and tender. The side dishes (banchan) were generous and flavorful, and we especially loved the dipping sauces that paired wonderfully with the grilled meat.

The service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff made a good effort to help us enjoy the celebration. Although the restaurant was very busy that evening, the servers remained polite and accommodating. However, because of the crowd, there were times when we had to remind the staff more than once about an item we requested. It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re dining during peak hours.

That said, the overall service was still warm and helpful, and we appreciated the staff’s hard work. We could tell they were doing their best to manage the volume while keeping guests happy.

Despite the minor delays, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a great time. We left feeling satisfied, and we’re already talking about coming back for another round of delicious Korean BBQ. It’s a fantastic spot for meat lovers and group celebrations.

Highly recommend giving Stoneage a try, just be a little patient if it’s a busy night. The food...

Wow, really great service! We had staff attend our table literally every 3 minutes to cook our food for us. Staff were polite and answered questions with a smile. The food was average, but the service really made a difference, and there is no doubt I will be returning here! The grill was changed several times during cooking by helpful staff, side dishes were replenished without a second thought!

Other positive notes: the tables are decently spaced so there is room to walk without bumping into people. When customers get out of the chair and look around for a second, the staff immediately know to make eye contact and point the customer's to the bathroom with haste and ease. Rubbish on our table is cleared almost immediately and it seems like there are always staff readily available to help, huge contrast to other restaurants where staff hide in a corner to chat, these guys don't do that! I also called up the restaurant beforehand and they do pick up the phone.

Hot tip: before placing your set menu order, you can ask to swap the egg pot with a bowl of rice instead!

We have been here several more times since my review and the place is consistently good, however I recommend if you can come here more often, try to get a seat on the side with the girl waiter, she is 200% more attentive than the male one. (If you don't know what I mean, observe, the service is split by left and right of the room, each side is primarily managed by one server, and the female is just significantly...

I dined at Stoneage Korean for a BBQ dinner yesterday, and unfortunately, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. I can't express how frustrated I am. Firstly, the service was painfully slow, and the staff seemed disorganized. There was a lack of communication about the queueing process – we were supposed to write our names on a paper to get a number, but this information was not conveyed to us. Secondly, the BBQ chicken was not just overcooked but burnt. Despite our concerns, the staff insisted it was the sauce, not burnt. We ordered a set, but many meat options were out of stock, as were several side dishes. Lastly, the most infuriating part was when we inquired about meat we ordered we were initially told yes we still have more not service yet. After a considerable wait, we asked again, only to be informed that they had substituted two of our chosen dishes for just one. We don’t have more dishes. This entire experience was truly exasperating. I sincerely hope these comments can contribute to improving the overall dining experience at Stoneage Korean.
