Thai Garlic — Restaurant in Sydney

This was a very solid choice. If we had this at home, this would be our “go to” place for very good Thai. Some Thai restaurants use ingredients from different regions and they are more expensive and they feature all the fancy cocktails, etc., And those are great, but for just a solid Thai on a weeknight, we found this to be very pleasant. A definite four out of five.

My husband really enjoyed his pad Thai. That’s all he ever gets…pad Thai. It’s how he judges a Thai restaurant. And he thought this one had a wonderful flavor balance. I had the drunken noodles, also a fave dish for me, and it was very good. I could’ve used a little bit more spice, but it was very good. The shrimp appetizer was OK, perhaps a little overly fried for me, but it was good as well. The server was nice. And I enjoyed the fact that we could bring our own wine! That is not something that is allowed in the states. Our Australian friends even bought us wine holder so that we could bring wine to some of the local restaurants. That element was very fun. For some reason Forestville is home to some of the most authentic and delicious foods out there and Thai Garlic is definitely one of those. The service is was at times a little slow the food was delivered promptly. The curry's and laksa's are absolutely delicious and the rice cooked to fluffy perfection.
