Disaster
We first received a phone call 1 hour before our booking to say the gas was out due to the rain and only Pizza and Salads will be available, We tried to let all 18 of our guest know within the hour and as a result half opting out of the get together. 9 of us turned up and I whilst I do try and support our local establishment as I have organised many successful get togethers at the Ambry Waverly in the past, I now must concede to never again. I went to order our food at least 20mins before everyone else as the joke was I was having a well done steak. That didn’t make a difference as a hour later I was still waiting whilst everyone else was finishing their meal and when it arrived it was sliced and uncooked. I have ordered the steak from there in the past and never was it sliced nor was anyone else’s. I sent it back to be cooked further but still not what I expected, no sign of a charring steak, looked par boiled and the side of greens I ordered arrived after we finished our meals.
Another friend ordered the Barramundi and half way into her meal the fish was uncooked and looked frozen in the middle, they tried to rectify it by offering her a different meal and she ordered the steak but sent it back as her medium steak looked worse than mine and they didn't slice hers into strips. She sent that back and ordered a salad instead and whilst they gave us 4 complimentary servings of Tiramisu for dessert, however my friend still ended up paying $31 for a salad and she really didn't end up eating and opted for toast when she got home.
The irony was that the place wasn’t even busy and there’s no excuse, nor did we what to be confronted by a hot headed chef asking what was wrong with the food, listen to the hostess as she was doing her best to diffuse the matter, we didn't need to see the male muscle try and bully us.
I had organised a overdue get together with friends and felt embarrassed as to what was going on, happy to report that 7 did enjoy there meal but that was overlooked by the failed attempts of rectifying my meal and my friends. Sadly no one has plans of...
Read moreFirst time coming this afternoon/evening for my niece's Confirmation dinner my sister organised. There was meant to be an antipasto platter organised for 4:15pm which didn't arrive and the lady my sister spoke to struggled to find the order. The 2 star rating is basically for that, because once it did come, it was good. The rest of the evening's food was very bad. We ordered dinner about 5:45-6pm, and for a Sunday evening, the place wasn't super packed so not a great sign when a restaurant struggles when the venue isn't even packed. The lamb came raw when it was ordered medium rare and the salsa Verde was missing completely, so basically, it was just meat and potatoes; the salt and pepper squid was missing the coriander and shallots - the restaurant must have run out of everything green. What was even worse was that the rocket and pear salad, as well as the barramundi didn't even come at all.
I haven't been to such a poorly run restaurant in a very long time, our expectations aren't even that high but you'd at least expect to be told if certain things have run out because this place is not cheap and you're essentially paying top dollar for half-complete plates.
Honestly, I won't be back. Such a lovely club and venue, but the restaurant severely...
Read moreDear Waverley Greens - The Ambry Team,
I'm happy to provide some feedback that I believe may help enhance your business further.
Firstly, while the food quality and service were OK, I found the prices for the meals to be a bit steep. It would be great if you could consider adjusting your pricing to be more competitive or offer value-added options.
Secondly, I suggest working on improving the English proficiency of your bar and waiting staff to an acceptable level. Clear communication is essential for a smooth dining experience, and this adjustment could benefit both your staff and patrons.
As for the roof, I'm curious if there are any plans to complete or improve it? It was a point of interest during my visit, and I wondered if there were any upcoming changes to its appearance or functionality.
Lastly, the lighting in the restaurant was a bit too bright for my taste and reminded me of a factory cafeteria. A warmer, more inviting ambiance could greatly enhance the overall dining experience.
I believe that taking these aspects into consideration could contribute to further success and an even more enjoyable experience for your customers.
Thank you for your attention to my comments, and I appreciate your commitment to making...
