The Boyz Charcoal Chicken — Restaurant in Sydney

Stumbled across this gem whilst exiting the petrol station. Glad we had, hubby and I entered and were greeted with such an amazing front server - professional, welcoming and spoke to us like we had known eachother before! Ordering was easy, communication tops and upon waiting we were given gozleme to try(delicious btw). Service was top notch.

Set up is beautiful, the place is clean with sink for hand washing after - great vibes.

Now to the food, A+ on all fronts. I ordered a chicken burger in a combo and upsized: chips fried to perfection(crispy and well done outside and soft on the inside), grilled chicken burger season well and lettuce cheese to my liking. I also requested smaller amount of chips than usual as I hate wasting food, hr accommodated so well. Husband ordered half charcoal chicken and chicken snack pack - finished! If that doesn't tell you the food was good, I don't know what will.

BEST part, they close 2am in the morning. When you work late hours - so comforting to know good food is available besides the generic fast food joints. Prices are reasonable too.

Ps: we were given complimentary baklava for it being our first time, pretty much VIP service is their standard.

A Hidden Gem That Gets It So Right

As I was enjoying my takeaway from The Boyz, my little sister came over to sneak a few chips and try the chicken. I asked her what she thought. Her reply? “The chicken is juicy and the chips are nice.” I followed up—“Crunchy chips?” She nodded: “Yeah.”

Now let that sit for a second: juicy charcoal chicken and crispy chips—after sitting in a takeaway box for 10 minutes. That alone speaks volumes.

Juicy charcoal chicken almost sounds like an oxymoron. Most places—El Jannah, Al Barakeh, you name it—dry it out on the rotisserie. But not The Boyz. Somehow, they’ve mastered the craft: slow-cooked over flames, yet still impossibly tender and packed with flavour. It’s the reason I keep coming back.

But it’s not just the food. From the very first visit, the warmth of the experience stood out. I still remember the owner, Muhammad, kindly offering my son a drink just because we paid in cash. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare—and it’s clear the care he puts into the food extends to every customer.

It extremely nightmare ruin my Christmas Day , our family decide to buy charcoal chicken and chips at this store and take it away to chipping Norton lakes to enjoy our Christmas Day , I came to this store at 12.00pm to make order , after paid $26 with chicken and chips, the guy said 22 mins waiting , However I was waiting there for an hour without any feed back and came to counter asking again they said 2 mins , after 5 mins then I asked again the guy intend to give me just a bag of chips without any chicken., at the time many other customers came in after , they order at the store and paid , they wait no more than 30 mins , it surprised to me that this guy took my order but wouldn’t know what it is ?? So after questioned him about my order again , then he asked would you order chicken too ?? Very disappointed and it ruined my Christmas Day .customers please stay away from this charcoal shop at any cost .
