The Dynasty Restaurant is located within Canterbury Leagues Club. Having yum cha here was an enjoyable experience. We came at 11am which is when the restaurant opens and were promptly seated. You don't need to book. The restaurant is quite big but fills up quickly. We were offered drinks and then given time to settle in and view the menu. Dining here, you place your order on a paper menu and won't have the authentic experience of ladies pushing dim sum carts. Once we decided what we wanted to eat, we gave our order to a staff member. They viewed it and very politely checked if it really was everything we wanted to order as it seemed like a lot. We appreciated this care as many places wouldn't. The wait time for food was good and it came out steadily. It was hot and fresh. Each item was tasty. What I really liked was that each basket and dish had four dumplings/ serves whereas a number of other yum cha places I have been to tend to have 3. The price was really good too with each of us paying $41. There was a lot of food. Tea was topped up regularly. Staff were accommodating of our requests and did so courteously. I would recommend dining here for yum cha.

A very pleasant evening with friends. Although quiet this Thursday evening, the service was first class. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The food we ordered was '60's classic "Chinese" ( Cantonese) food; lemon chicken, Mongolian lamb, honey prawns, braised pork, fried rice, fortune cookies, etc. Brought back memories of my childhood. Loved it! Surprisingly, for such dated cuisine and presentation, it was excellent. The chicken was plump, soft and tasted of chicken not overpowered by the lemon. The lamb melt in the mouth with a nice balance of Hosin sauce and not overstuffed with onions. The pork soft and salty..... All the servings were generous and by request, not bought to the table all at once. Nearby a large family celebrated their 5yo son's birthday, with laughter, singing and a blue and white ice-cream cake. So lovely to able to see people together enjoying life. A really pleasant evening with friends.

I love trying new places for Yum Cha. I must say the ambience of this restaurant is lovely. It’s nicely decorated and presented. The wait staff are very attentive. It doesn’t have the food coming on the trolleys. You order on a piece of a4 paper and the wait staff will whisk it away to the kitchen. They’ll leave the bill thingy and mark your dishes ordered on it as soon as you receive them. The food was yummy. My pork football wasn’t hot but it was tasty. I tried a new steamed dumpling dish , it was pork with truffles, it smelled devine , but very similar to the steamed pork ones. I loved the pork spareribs, steamed rolled Rice noodle with beef, mango pancakes, and sticky rice the best. The chicken feet were a different flavour than one you normally get. It’s a little more expensive but I still think Vanh Phat in Cabramatta is the place to go!

We had not been to Canterbury League club for quite a while and decided to go yesterday for lunch. We were tossing at which place to go and eat at within the club and decided to go to The Dynasty Chinese Restaurant. We have been to The Dynasty before but maybe 3-4 years ago. Anyway it was a bad decision to of gone there. Should of gone to the Bistro or the other eateries which may of been better and much cheaper. The food was not as it use to be and certainly not worth the money we paid for it. One of the dishes we ordered was salt and pepper squid. It was bland, no flavour and chewy and not eatable. Another dish was San chow bow, it did not taste right, the only good thing about this dish was the crunchy lettuce. Fried ice-cream was terrible, it was served that quick from when we ordered it, it definately did not taste fresh and had no crunch to it. Have certainly had better. Will give credit to the service though. Heaps of wait staff around. When it came to pay the lady came to our table with the bill and the eftpos machine. Took my card out to pay and to my horror she says "how much tip do you want to leave"? I was taken a back at her question as was not expecting it. We do leave tips but we have never been asked how much of a tip we want to leave. The situation was quite awkward as she is holding the eftpos machine in your face waiting for the tip amount before processing the actual payment. I entered the tip and proceeded with the final payment. I felt this part of their service was extremely rude and will never return there again. There are other places to eat at within the club and so much...

Well, my partner and I thought we’d try a new restaurant for Yum Cha and arrived around 12:20pm on a Sunday afternoon and found there were already two groups of four plus waiting for a table. No worries that’s pretty normal and they were given tables before us naturally, then more customers arrived and were given tables before us, ok they might have made a booking?

Then more customers that arrived after us and took a number got a seat. My partner asked old mate when we were going to get a seat and he said “Soon, soon”.

After close to an hour we were finally seated then worked out it must be Al a Carte ordering given there was a paper menu on the table and a Keno pencil. No explanation given as we were seated, no one asked if we’d been there before? No one came to see if we needed drinks? We sat there for five to ten minutes before we worked it out, meanwhile, the waitstaff were less than two metres away busying themselves with take home leftover containers and cleaning tables. So we finally ordered and the first dish, salt and pepper whitebait which is our favourite, arrived twenty minutes later.

Stone. F”kn. Cold.

The dumplings that followed ten minutes later all at the same time were delicious but, we’re all stuck to the paper or bowl so you had to fish them out by hand or they would fall apart in your chopsticks.

Asked for the bill which took another ten minutes to arrive, and they...

Food was between nice and average, great atmosphere but service could be better. Don't know why a wait staff would just bring the trolley of food to our table and just grabbed the other trolley with nothing on it and just walked straight back to the kitchen instead of knowing that other staffs were occupied, he could've at least served the dishes onto our table. Instead of just walking away. Food was between average to good, but I guess it depends on what you have. The dishes varies. But the biggest rip off there is the dishes are served in small portions and they jack up the price. Even to me the food was nice, but price wise, the portions are ridiculous. We had to double it. Atmosphere at the whole club is good overall. Lastly, the lady working as waitress there not sure if she's the manager or supervisor, but did she really have to yell or scream at another staff member?? And her attitude shows that she doesn't want to be there. She makes customers feel unwelcome. At least we had this "unwelcome" feeling from her!! To me food was between nice and average. I've had better. The king prawns with XO didn't even taste like XO at all. But the prawns were nice and thick giving it a crunchy texture. Black pepper beef with long beans were nice too, tofu was average, San-Tung chicken was nice but a little dry. The vegetables in pot were average too. Anyways, service could be...
