I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Family Inn in Rydalmere, and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment I walked in, I could feel the welcoming atmosphere. The place has such a warm, laid-back vibe, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home.

I opted for one of their famous pub meals, and wow—what a generous portion! I ordered the steak, and it was cooked to perfection. Not only was the food delicious, but the prices were more than reasonable for the quality and quantity. I couldn’t finish my meal (which says a lot because I’m usually a big eater!), and I love that I got such great value for my money.

One of my favorite parts was the outdoor beer garden. It's a lovely spot, especially on a sunny day. I could just sit there, enjoy my meal, and soak up the good vibes. Plus, it’s a great spot to grab a drink with friends or family.

If you’re into sports, The Family Inn has a fantastic sports bar with full TAB facilities, which added a fun touch to my visit. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a lively night out, this place has something for everyone. I also noticed that they host a variety of events, so it seems like a great spot for birthday parties or other celebrations.

To be honest, the place isn't super fancy—it's more of a traditional, no-frills kind of pub, but that’s what makes it special. It's a local gem where you can relax, enjoy great food, and be surrounded by friendly people. Overall, my experience was fantastic, and I’ll...

New update underneath original review: Lovely old school kind of pub with exceptional service from May and Michelle, two barstaff who are a credit to the hospitality industry. Always with a cheerful and positive energy when serving their patrons! Recommended: Steak sandwich with chips. Plenty of flavour and extremely filling for a reasonable price! Update April 2025: Upon returning to this establishment have discovered a change of menu, however the service remains impeccable as always! Big shout out to Michelle once again being on song with her recommendation of the chicken schnitzel burger 🍔. A massive feed at reasonable price. Also a must have is the calamari + salad. Unfortunately the steak sandwich is no longer part of the menu but the many new additions more than make up for this. Highly recommended. Kudos as well to May for her...

Five of us went to the family inn for dinner this evening and when we arrived the door was locked which was odd, once we got in no one spoke to us at all or offered us a menu which was also odd considering there was only about 10 other people in the bistro area. They somehow ran out of ham for parmas at 6.30 on a Sunday night...is the Aldi across the street too far to go to get some more? There were two female workers who were walking around in the kitchen, flipping their hair around as they walked near food and serving areas, I would think it would be a requirement to have hair tied up in food preparation areas. I also noticed that they did not wash their hands between scraping off dirty plates and cutlery and then handling my groups plates of food (bit yuck in COVID times) the food wasn’t bad but I...

Went here on a Saturday for lunch. We were a group of 5 people. The interior of the place is pretty good. The rump steak lunch special was supposed to be medium rare but it was a bit too bloody right around the middle. And it seems to be too simple as compared to previous photos of the rump steak. For the pasta, we didn't expect it to be spicy than usual. Good thing the beer was pretty cold so it balanced the spiciness of the meal. Overall, it was an ok-ish experience.

Been to The family Inn multiple times, their service has been consistently good. Food quality was also great with am affordable price. Serving size is always generous. The steak I had recently was surprisingly good. Requested the steak to be medium rare and it came out just as I would like it. Usually the steaks at most places are quite dry or slightly overcooked. However, the steak at the family inn was very tender with a good amount of charred flavour.

This is more of an "after work drinks" kind of establishment for the local industrial workers. Patrons mostly consist of middle aged guys in fluoro vests. It's not exactly a 'family' joint but the meals are good quality pub grub and you can get cheap beer. A schooner for under $5 at happy hour and $20 schnitzel. It's not fancy but the food is fresh and well prepared.
