The Field at Easts Rugby — Restaurant in Sydney

We organised our daughter’s 1st birthday at the Feilds. One of the reasons we chose the venue is because there was an option to have the event moved inside if we had bad weather. So due to being 65km winds we asked to have the event moved inside.

On arrival we immediately noticed we had barely any space for our guests. Not only this but other patrons and kids were walking through our “event space” the entire time ( even though there were blockades put around the area by the venue) These other patrons were both eating the food we paid for and using the play equipment we hired for our guests. (All of which was inside of our designated area) It was extremely uncomfortable.

It just seemed like the venue was not able to comfortably cater to the crowd on the day -and if if they knew this may be the case (because of the weather ) they should have suggested we move our event to a different day- which we would have been happy to do. The space allocated to us inside for our 45 + guests and 10 children was very small even without any of the kids play equipment being there. There was virtually no space for guests with prams or enough places for everyone to sit comfortably. Some guests were pregnant and had no place to sit without having to ask seated guests to vacate their seats.

In addition to this - The food was not brought out on time meaning most of our guests bought their own food which we did not want considering we prepaid for food. We were also asked if a live singer/musician could be set up right next to the play equipment which I thought was ridiculous considering the space was chaotic enough without having a band set up in our hired space.

The entire event was just very chaotic and extremely disappointing to be honest, our baby’s 1st birthday was something I wish to have remembered for a long time and now it’s something I will remember for all the...

I love this place the staff are fantastic warm, friendly and professional and the food is fantastic I am addicted to the $18 steak on Thursday it is a beautiful cut of beef, tenderly cooked and served with a fantastic salad and chips or mash and veges and your choice of sauce. It’s just incredible value.

I honestly cannot recommend The Fields too much the staff are simply awesome, love the atmosphere its right beside the training and game ground so is full of guys of all ages being coached and their families so not your spot for a quiet intimate dinner but a great place for a fantastic casual and relaxed meal. I adore it all but must admit it reminds me of home as my dad was a professional soccer coach and we have a footy field in the backyard so it was always full of kids and young people, and parents. The only difference no one is threatening to throw your dinner in the bin if you don't get home!!! We really did frustrate a lot of parents as their kids were caught up in post match discussion.

From our first enquiry with Claudia when planning the event to the moment we arrived, Mahaylie, Jonny and the team were incredibly flexible, attentive, and eager to help with every detail.

They went above and beyond to accommodate our wish to have the celebration outside, setting up gazebos and heaters so that we could stay in the veggie patch; despite having a well-prepared backup area indoors due to weather. Everything ran smoothly which allowed us to relax and enjoy without any worries.

The fantastic service provided by the team ensured that our day went off without a hitch. Their willingness to make our outdoor celebration possible, despite the challenges, really stood out.
