We heard people raving about The Indian Joint. We ordered take away at the restaurant itself and the staff were really helpful. We waited inside the restaurant and the owner was very professional and all of the staff were focused on customer satisfaction. The food took about 15 minutes which kept to the time that we were told it would take. It smelled amazing but when we got home the food tasted average. The lamb cutlets were very dry and the sinew wasn't trimmed properly, leaving it very chewy. The starters lacked seasoning. A little more seasoning would have brought out the flavours of the beautiful spices used. The same could be said for the curries. They were quite nice but lacked seasoning. Perhaps it was an off day for the chef or maybe we were expecting too much, having heard people rave about the place. We'll probably go back to give it another shot in the off chance that this was 'just one of those days' for the restaurant. I've certainly had better Indian food from other restaurants but want to definitely give The Indian...
Read moreMy wife and I ate here once and had a great meal and a lovely chat with the owner (I believe) and have been going back for takeaway ever since. Absolutely the best takeaway service I've received anywhere, every time! They are just so consistent! It's the only place that I know for sure I'll get exactly what I ordered, exactly when I expect it. They have your name saved if you've called before. They call back quickly if they miss your call, confirm you understand numbers of items in a serve, repeat back your order and give you an (ever so slightly over) estimate of the time it'll take so you're never waiting longer than anticipated. They'll then text you when it's ready. On pick-up they'll greet you with a smile and read back your order against the checklist on the bag to make sure you've got everything you expected. The food is consistently hot and delicious. As for spice level I'd say the medium is slightly hotter than the medium at some other places. Love it, now my go to for...
Read moreBest Indian in Sydney. We are from the UK and have had an everlasting search to find a great Indian, and boy have we found it at the Indian Joint.
The food is next level, the quality is great and importantly always consistent. We have never had a bad meal from here, it is always absolutely excellent.
The currys are all really fresh with lots of meat or veggies, not just swimming in sauce as per lots of places. The naan bread is always on point and the complimentary poppadoms with chutneys are always a hit.
The staff and owners are so so friendly, attentive and will go out of their way for you. I was having to follow quite a strict diet for a while and they made me a special curry with no onion or garlic which was so kind of them and it was still delicious.
I would encourage everyone to try it here, you won't be disappointed and will be...
