Collaroy Beach is an oceanside community known for its namesake stretch of sandy beach, as well as for being a popular destination for windsurfers and beginner surfers. Businesses, stores and surf shops are primarily set along Pittwater Road, along with laid-back bars and restaurants. The area has bird-watching, and seasonal whale and dolphin watching opportunities. The beach itself has picnic and BBQ areas.
