Finally found my perfect Indian food in Sydney at @tpg.thegrandpalace ✨ This fine dining experience was one of a kind – delicious, authentic Indian dishes bursting with flavour and spice. The ambiance in the restaurant itself is unmatched, with royal décor (think palace chairs and crystal chandeliers). The staff are so friendly and helped us choose some of the best dishes I’ve got to try yet. 🦀 Goan Crab Shak Shak: Mud crabs cooked with Chef’s secret Goan spices - My favourite dish along with the lobster, these were so fun to crack into and bite into a mouthful of delicious, saucy flavour. I love crab because you can get messy with it, and the meat was very generous/rewarding in these mudcrabs. 🦞 Southern Rock Masala Lobster: fresh lobster marinated and cooked with Chef’s secret spices – My favourite for taste, the lobster flavour is there without being fishy. This was Sam’s favourite for a reason, the garnishes were refreshing and the lobster bites themselves were incredibly tasty. 🫓 Cheesey Garlic Naan: bread stuffed with cheese and topped with garlic – This naan was so delicious, we ended up having to order two servings. If you don’t feel like the rice, this is a perfect palette cleanser between curry bites and the garlic/cheese flavours is one of my favourites. 🐟 Goan Fish Curry: barramundi fish cooked with Kokum (Garcinia Indica) and coconut milk – Think crispy and flaky fish sitting in a pool of delicious, creamy sauce. The perfect combination of flavours. 🍖 Chef’s Special Lamb Curry: lamb shanks marinated overnight with Chef’s selected special spices and herbs, slowly cooked to preserve the flavour. Served with baby young potatoes – Like the crab, super fun to get messy with. The meat had the perfect amount of fattiness, I love slow cooked meat like this as it fell right off the bone. After all this – I was surprised that I didn’t feel heavy or bloated from all of the spice/sauces – however with this fine dining menu I found everything was quite light and we easily managed to finish everything. The portions were good, flavour on point and definitely somewhere I very much look forward to visiting again. @ahungryhalfie

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Given it was our first time here I had read good reviews so was expecting a high standard. We were very happy to see the good reviews were spot on. First the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We asked to move seats at the start as our initial table was next to the food serving area so the bell they used was already distracting. Perhaps remove the small table next to that area as it isn't a great spot. We were then put at a table next to the bay window, wow, amazing décor and the background music was just fantastic. The plates/glasses etc were of a very high standard. The menu is broad, but not overly so that it isn't confusing. We were very pleased to see the Banquet was available for 2 people. Many restaurants have a minimum number of 4. As such we chose the banquet. The entrée is set and comes with Onion Bhaji, Chicken Tikka, Murgh Malai Tikka and Lamb Chops. To say the entrée was delicious is an understatement. The flavours were sensational. The banquet then allows a choice of two curries (more if you had more people obviously). We chose the Handi Goat Masala and Chicken Jalfrezi. Then we had a choice of various styles of naan bread and rices. (many options to choose from). Once again the flavours, they were so good. Then came out the crispy prawn dish, also standard as part of the banquet. This was then finished off with a dessert plate, also part of the standard banquet. Ordering the banquet, you will certainly not go hungry. We had so much food that we ended up taking three containers home of leftovers. For the amount of food it very well priced. I would highly recommend MITRAN DA DHABA FINE DINING to anyone looking for an excellent Indian dining experience. We will certainly be back again.
