What a find! Found this on our first night out and moving into the area and I think we may have found a regular haunt for ourselves. It’s a casual, hole-in-the-wall-style tapas bar with a friendly, welcoming vibe. Food, a smiling face, and killer margaritas... what more could you want? In fact, the margaritas were so good I had to go back to the bar and say so. The owner, David, even came around to every table to personally say hello. We ordered the sharing platter for two and added some charred jalapeños. OMG. The meatballs — I need the recipe for that sauce. Deep, rich, smoky, with just the right kick of spice and perfectly cooked. And those jalapeños... bold, spicy, with just enough heat to have you guzzling more Margaritas. The whole place has a quirky, lived-in feel. There are books, games to mess around with, and a mix of indoor and street seating. We sat inside, but I reckon the street seats would be just as fun. It seemed to attract an eclectic mix of people — young families, casual diners like us, after-work drinks with mates, and even the solo quick-drink-on-the-way-home types.
Anyway, it must’ve made an impression — this is the longest review I’ve ever...
Read moreWhat happens when a clown, slenderman, 2 x 2000 Sydney Olympians and Ali G walk into this Bar? A good time. Epic drinks, epic games and epic stories. Owner Dave very accommodating and up for a laugh.
He has a favourite son, so know he has a favourite customer. Hoping to take that mantle.
Just what Mona Vale needs.
Will be back for a few more margys!
Back again, although this time in some more appropriate attire. After moving out the area and not visiting for a year and a half, I went and celebrated a birthday here.
From the moment we walked through the Door Dave greeted us as if we were long lost friends. He had not forgotten us, it felt like going home.
The food was still sensational and the margys even better than I remembered. Had to order a few!
Still a great asset to the northern beaches and a must visit for some great food, great vibes and great company.
You aren't just visiting the bar Veinte, you are visiting Dave's home and he welcomes you into completely with open arms and a warm smile.
Definitely need to make more of an effort to come and...
Read moreMyself and some friends just dined there, and we were treated extremely rude by the host/bartender. We came in to the restaurant (note we are foreigners visiting australia) and no one was coming to the table to take our order so my friend got up to the bar to ask something to the bartender about the menu and the man rudely said “this isn’t a youth hostel, go to your table and sit down until until I go there.” That was the first red-flag. Then as we were ordering our food, my friend was in the process of ordering a burrito and he was going to order something else but the man interrupted him and asked my friend in a very rude tone “please?” while my friend hadn’t even finished talking and ordering. The food was very decent but the experience was ruined by the man hosting us. A table of locals sat next to us and he was extremely nice to them, which makes us think the man does not like foreigners in his restaurant which is both problematic and...
