Vanilla Bean & Lime Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

I wanted something v e g a n but they had zero options available on their menu. The young guy serving was amazing and helped but that’s where it ended. It cost $27.90 for a stir fry and a ginger beer - which is available a few shops away for half of that (I found after I’d ordered). The old guy who was supposed to deliver food, stopped to chat with his colleague with a hot plate of food and then I watched him wave his dirty hand repeatedly over my food. I ended up having to get it myself. Every action he took he acted like it was beneath him. What would have been an above average experience became a less than average experience by one man.

Take this onboard: adapt with the times and offer some decent vegan menu items that won’t cost you money if you don’t sell them, train your staff and maybe tidy up around the front door. I have apologised to who I can only assume are the owners (on account of their being at the cafe every time I'm there) for my previous, flippant review. I am reminded reviews can be ugly things, endowed with a haunting tenacity that can be quite devastating to a business. Or at the very least, a niggle in the back of the owners mind. This is a local fave in Padstow. Consistent is the word. Great Campos coffee and food. Everything here is super yum and fresh. I often get the pancakes x2 stack with bacon, acai bowl and veg breakfast, hubby get it with bacon. Staff are good and service is quick and efficient and good value. There is parking at the back near Padstow Park Hotel and Liquorland or at the double storey carpark across the road. They also do a great take away.
