Doytao Thai | Padstow — Restaurant in Sydney

Why o why, what has happened. I've been spruking this place for years now as i found it had the best value, good quality food in the area. I once ordered $350 worth of food delivered it was that good.

Then i place a $60 order and it is underwhelming to say the least. The whole boneless chicken is barely cooked when its usually nicely charred and dripping with marinade. The octopus is also under-cooked and rubbery which i dont understand as ive had this a dozen times and was always really really good.

To top it off, the thai vegetable salad was very watery and then i found mealworm on my plate, alive and wriggling. I had eaten a bit before i found it so who knows how many i ate. I rang back and told them, they just said sorry. I've taken a picture and said i can send it to them, also told them to check their veges for mealworms.

In all honesty if thier food was at its usual best i would have pushed the worm off the plate and continued to chow down. Someone there must have known the food was no good before it was sent out. Did a trainee cook the food or are you just another in a long line that take advantage of nice people and think nothing of it? As i said on the phone i wont order from here again and instead of spruking i will...

I know this place probably over 12 years since i lived before in padstow. During these lockdown in Sydney, this place would be my favourite place. Price is not being rip off when you order it through menulog or through their website . Both has the same price and free delivery.

The only bad thing i found is their inconsistent to cook with bad taste and sometimes it can be forgotten if you order it again the next time as they will give you better taste.

The good thing is their delivery and we dont need to wait long, compared to other thai restaurant in panania that cook too long.

Our favouritte menu is the pad thai as it comes with authentic thai flavour. Their bbq pork is good thing to try if you have not tried.

Also try the yummy beef salad, love...

Have been going to Doytao for a few years now, on my last visit I was very disappointed with the food and service. No customer service at all the waitresses do not smile what so ever. Not sure if they have changed ownership but everything was very different. I was disgusted after paying my bill and walking out one of the waitress chased me outside saying that they had under charged me by 1 drink. We were a table of 10 so the bill was a lot and they made the mistake of undercharging us by $3 very disappointed that they would come out and chase you for that. I will definitely not be returning or recommend anyone to this...
