Padstow Park Hotel — Restaurant in Sydney

Went to get dinner and play pokies with my friend when i was confronted by a security guard with an attitude problem. Tried to carry in a small fold up electric scooter i use to get too and from the station, but i was told i have to leave it outside. I tried to explain its expensive and its how i get to work and asked if i can leave it somewhere thats safe not where someone can easily steal it outside. I also asked if i can leave it on my lap so it doesnt touch the floor he just kept pointing outside cutting me off saying no no no. I called management to see what they have to say about it and she explained its against policy etc but surely anyone with a brain could see i just want a safe place to leave my scooter while i spend money in your establishment, just find a store room or make a concession for an hour, do something if you are in the business of customer service. The manager was polite unlike the security guard, but she didnt do anything to make me want to come back and was more interested in telling me their policy than trying to keep a customer, but its not really her fault she wasnt there. I used to watch every ufc here and before i lost my licence id come here every couple weeks after work to play pokies or grab a bite to eat. Now im on a scooter every day to and from the station i need to go past every day but I wont ever be back again. They are very friendly when they are taking your money but the first time i need a bit of accomodation im treated like garbage. I suggest trying to find a solution for a loyal patron, not push them away the first chance you get. Atleast teach security some manners i wasnt causing any problems no need to give me attitude and cut me off when i try to speak. Not a good business model treating any customers rudely let alone the loyal ones. Padstow Park hotel is one of the scummiest places on this earth. It is always filled with rude, loud mouthed individuals who continuously yell, scream and talk crap until the early hours of the morning, disturbing those people who live near the area. i use to live opposite the 'hotel', thinking at first that the train line would make more noise, but in fact is not the case. The pub basically disrupts the peace and causes more damage to the area of Padstow. Filthy beer cans and bottles lining the street, silly drunks risking their lives crossing the roads, and constantly having to see under aged drinkers is pathetic. It is the low line of such a beautiful suburb. the poor restaurants opposite it are constantly at dismay, as they have mentioned to me more times than once that they have lost business because of the losers swearing and drinking outside, what person would want to take their families to the restaurants if they had to put up with such losers? If i had all the money in the world, I would buy the place and convert the 'hotel' into either an irish style pub where families are welcome to bring their children, have trivia nights and nice social events. i would close the front of the hotel into an inclosed lounge area so that no noise would interfere with the locals living in the area. Either that or i would convert the place into a line of two or three family restaurants in which would close by 10pm to allow quiet in the neighbourhood. Hopefully oneday some others will also agree and we can have our way..But if i were you, and care for the society and wonderful suburb of padstow, i will not give the hotel and place, time or money. Take your family and friends to the local businesses around padstow, they are worth much more than a place which is so inconsiderate, constantly has fights in the open and have had the police called more than one occasion to stop imbeciles from ruining Padstows...

If I could give this place a negative review, I would. I would rather have gone to AMPOL and bought a Four n Twenty Pie that has been sitting there for 2 days than eat at this place again. I honestly would rather eat MREs

The bistro section of this hotel is absolutely trash. They were previously pretty good. I'm not sure if it is a change in staff or what but is absolutely garbage now as of 07/2023

The orders: Scotch Fillet Steak, cooked to medium rare. Steak was cooked rare. The fries/chips that came with the steak tasted like I had gargled my mouth with the dead sea. I think I was suffering from severe dehydration after eating about 3 chips. You might need to serve this dish up with a complementary bottle of water as it is a health hazard.

Lamb Shank on the special menu. The sauce on the dish was poured over the lamb shank was cold as the morgue, which in turn made everything on the dish cold. Cold rice, cold lamb shank. The fried onions that came on the dish felt like i was eating staedtler plastic eraser from office work. The lamb shank was previously 36$ for (2pcs) and now it is $27 for (1pcs). However the rice portion of the dish remained the same. So it was 1pc of lamb shank with 3 kilos of rice.

Chocolate, Hazelnut souffle with strawberries and ice cream. Should be renamed chocolate muffin hazelnut filling with a tablespoon of ice cream and 1/2 strawberry. I don't know if anyone has ever had souffle before but that was not it. It was a muffin that was zapped in a microwave for 30 seconds. The item was with "strawberries". More like with 1/2 of a strawberry and that is being generous.
