Not as Pet-Friendly as They Claim

I’m really disappointed with my experience at Woof Grounds Café. For a café attached to a pet store, especially with an internal access door into the pet store, you’d think they’d be more accommodating to people with pets — but sadly, that’s not the case.

I completely understand and totally agree with not having dogs running around inside — that’s just common sense. But I went in holding my tiny 2kg toy cavoodle puppy in my arms while trying to order a babycino for my 3-year-old, and I was told to leave.

When I questioned this, another staff member (perhaps the manager) stepped in and reluctantly said they could take my order — but made it clear I needed to hurry up so I could leave the inside of the café and wait outside. Not exactly the warm, pet-friendly atmosphere you’d expect from a business connected to a pet store!

How am I supposed to juggle standing outside, a toddler and a puppy just to order a tiny cup of frothed milk? Speaking of which — they charge $3.50 for a babycino, not a kids’ hot chocolate — just a babycino! Ridiculous for what it is.

For a place that markets itself as pet-friendly, they could really use a dose of common sense and a better attitude toward actual pet owners. I won’t be back — and if you’re hoping for a genuinely welcoming experience for you and your pets, I’d suggest going...

Small takeaway cafe connected to the pet store (as you can tell by the name!). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Sat down for a quick coffee while in the area. The only kind of annoying thing is the pet store staff rushing in and out of the place grabbing random drinks and coffees. I was there for maybe 10min and it happened at least 5 times! Otherwise the coffee is quite good and it’s surprising as it’s tucked away in this shopping centre.

Best coffee i ever had, as soon as I walked in all the staff greeted me with the biggest smiles. Staff are very energetic and happy and welcoming. First time here and they recommended me their number one rated coffee. Their desserts are spectacular!!! I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.
