My daughter was in tears on her engagement night because her guests left physically ill due to the incompetence of Gregory Hills staff.
We held her party in the raised terrace and I am appalled by management's treatment of guests. There were a number of guests with allergies, including my daughter who were all made known to staff more than a week prior to the event. Names and tables were provided, however staff still served the wrong food to these people meaning they became very ill on the night.
When we raised this with Gregory Hills' staff they were unapologetic and rude. We were told by management that guests were responsible for the food they ate and that the issue was not their problem.
I am infuriated by the total lack of concern Gregory Hills has shown for patron safety. Guests had to seek medical attention following the event due to their allergies and management's response was that they delivered within the parameters of the event.
We also had elderly guests leave the party early due to the volume of the live music, which was so loud you could not have a conversation and made it physically painful for them to be in the room. Despite being asked by a number of guests to turn the music down, nothing was done.
To have such a beautiful day tainted by the disinterest and incompetence of staff was devastating. I am devestated for my daughter who put in so much work, just to have her night spoiled by problems that were avoidable and should never...
Read moreFirst time attending Gregory Hills Hotel and here are my initial thoughts. Modern and busy establishment on a Saturday night. Crowd was young but many families and children were also dining in. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived early so we sat in the back area with the big screen TV. It was extremely loud in that location, difficult to hear each other talk. Bae service was quick and attendants were polite. Prices as you'd expect. We joined our table and the noise levels decreased dramatically albeit the neighbouring children's playground was busy but not annoyingly so. Drinks and food were available to order from the table using a barcode and the hotel app. Ordering meals that way was simple and the orders arrived in a timely manner. Meals included a chicken schnitzel, fish tacos, steak and lamb skewers and a side of chips. No complaints from anyone and my steak was cooked to my liking. Live band started playing and patrons were singing along. The atmosphere was great, the pub was alive and our empties were whisked away not long after they ended that way. I rated this hotel highly, nothing to complain about and I praise the staff for their efforts and dedication to ensuring the patrons were all happy. Well done to the...
Read moreVisited for the second time with some family, its a very nice, comfortable large space, plenty of seating to suit needs. Outdoor seating is nice and peaceful, indoor is pleasant. Bottle store attached and a playground for the children. Good variety of beverages at the bar, quick and knowledgeable bar staff. Waiters and waitresses are very pleasant and fast workers.
Ordering made very easy with the QR system at the table, pictures are on point and accurate too.
When we ordered the food, it came out quite quickly considering how it was lunchtime on a Friday and it was quite busy. The food looked absolutely fantastic! But lacked in taste.
We ordered lamb pasta, bacon bbq cheese chips, a margerita pizza and a chicken burger with chips.
The lamb pasta had generous servings of lamb, the pasta bland but the parmesan helped. The pizza was soggy, oily and tasteless. The chicken burger was very nice, slightly better than average and the bacon bbq cheese chips had so much hype that I personally don't think it deserved.
The reason being that these 4 dishes cost almost $82 and didnt live up the expectation,
With that being said, id still recommend this place, but perhaps just for...
