We had the worst experience at Dosa Delight. Even the first time we visited, which was just last week, we ordered Two paneer Dosas and idli sambar. The food was decent, but the service was absolutely appalling – honestly, it was below zero. My husband and I were shocked by the staff’s behaviour and the sheer attitude they displayed. We weren’t even greeted when we arrived. One girl was standing by the entrance, staring at us, and then made a gesture to another guy to come and greet us. Finally, a man named Dilip came over and pointed to a table for us to sit at. We wanted to try palak pasta chaat and he said they don't have it and then we asked for another entree again he mentioned they don't have it so we ordered Dahi Puri along with other food items.
When the food arrived, they simply left it on the corner of the table, not bothering to tell us or place it in front of us. They did this for all three items we ordered. It was as if they couldn't be bothered. Fast forward to yesterday, when we visited again for dinner, Dilip did the exact same thing. He left the food at the far corner of the table. Honestly, what is with all this attitude? We couldn’t understand why they were acting this way or what they were trying to prove. I noticed that when he served a couple at a nearby table, he placed their food nicely in front of them.
After seeing that, I called him over to give some feedback about our experience, which had now happened twice. We were seated at the same type of table as the other couple, and the table was empty, so the food should have been placed in front of us, not on the side. Now here’s where it gets even worse – when I tried to share my feedback, Dilip folded his arms and acted like he couldn’t care less. His attitude was bossy and dismissive. I felt sorry for him, honestly.
This kind of behaviour reflects poorly on the staff and management. You’ve lost customers for life, and I doubt that’ll matter to you. We recently moved to the area, and we had planned to visit this restaurant regularly for dinners, lunches, and get-togethers. Well, that’s definitely not happening now, and frankly, I’m relieved. There's a coffee shop right next to your restaurant – they know how to treat their customers. Dosa Delight staff, however, clearly has a serious attitude problem, and for no apparent reason.
I honestly don’t care if anyone – including the owner – takes this review seriously or not, because I have absolutely ZERO HOPE that anything will change. What a disgraceful management...

We visited Dosa Delight in Gregory Hills for a birthday dinner based on a recommendation from Dosa Hut Liverpool (our go-to place). Since we recently moved further away from Liverpool, the staff at Dosa Hut suggested trying Dosa Delight, saying it’s part of the same franchise. Sadly, this turned out to be a huge mistake and a waste of $140 for 4 people.
We started with a hot and sour soup – a dish we’ve had many times before at different restaurants and one that’s usually mildly spicy. The waitress warned us it would be spicy, but we went ahead anyway, ordering just one to share. What we received was not just spicy – it was unbearably hot. After just two small spoonfuls, we had to stop.
Next, we ordered two Mysore Masala Dosas for the girls – a favourite dish. Shockingly, they couldn’t even get through more than five bites. It was so fiery that even dosa lovers like them gave up entirely. I ordered a Ghee Karam Dosa hoping that the ghee would balance the spice. Instead, it was another overly spiced disaster. I left half of it on the plate – and I rarely leave food behind.
The only saving grace were the drinks – Mojito, Watermelon Mojito, and Melon Surprise – which were refreshing and enjoyable.
But the real kicker? The complete lack of customer service. When the plates were being cleared, we gave our feedback directly to a lady who looked like one of the owners. Her response? A robotic, “Do you want to pack the leftovers?” Not a single word of apology, no concern, no acknowledgment – just indifference. The staff, overall, looked disengaged, wore no smiles, and had zero warmth or welcoming attitude. It felt like we were burdening them just by being there.
This was meant to be a special dinner, and it was absolutely ruined. For a place under the Dosa Hut franchise, this was a shockingly bad representation. We left disappointed, frustrated, and still hungry....
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to visit dosa delight that has recently come under new management, and I must say, my experiences were like night and day. I dined there on two separate occasions over the course of two weeks, and the contrast was shocking.
During my first visit, about two weeks ago (as seen in the first picture), I was utterly blown away by the quality, quantity, and taste of the food. Everything from the service to the presentation was exceptional—truly an 11/10 experience. The dishes were bursting with flavor, and the attention to detail was evident in every bite. It was an experience that genuinely exceeded my expectations, earning a solid 5 stars.
However, my second visit this past week (depicted in the second picture) was a disappointing reversal. I ordered the same dishes, hoping to relive that incredible experience, but instead, I was met with a stark decline in quality. The food felt like it came from an entirely different restaurant. The chef seemed to lack passion, and the love that was so palpable in the first meal was absent. The quantities were drastically reduced, leaving me feeling shortchanged, even during a non-busy time.
To add to the disappointment, the service was noticeably poorer than during my first visit, even though I had come during the peak dinner time previously. After today's experience, I would struggle to give more than three stars. The only reason I'm giving it even that much is due to the biryani, which still managed to retain some of its former glory.
In conclusion, this restaurant has the potential to be great, but they need to ensure consistency in both food quality and service to truly shine. The difference captured in the photos speaks volumes; I hope my next visit brings back the magic of...
