I am not one to write reviews generally, but thought i would share the poor service we received on Mothers Day.
Firstly, the initial service we received from Derek was terrible. He was rude and condescending and to be honest i was quite taken back.
We booked a table for 17 people (16 of those were booked for a shared menu (11 adults and 5 children), however two members were unable to attend due to being unwell. We were initially told that it was ok, to be later to be told by Derek that we would have to pay for the two individuals that weren't able to attend, however they could offer a 50% reduction, which we accepted.
It is important to note that we were not advised that should a person(s) not be able to attend that we would be charged which we feel is crucial information to supply at the initial booking.
Our booking was for 12pm and the first course (Garlic Bread Pizza) arrived at approximately 1:20pm. A total of 12 pieces to feed 16 people (14 people minus the two not in attendance)
Second course arrived at approximately 2pm which consisted of a charcuterie board (10 small slices of bread) and maybe 15-20 small pieces of cold meats)
At this point we questioned the amount and were told that as 5 children were participating that the shared menu would be reduced, which we understood, however there was not enough food to feed every paying individual.
Due to the poor experience (customer service, wait times, portions of food) we advised we would be leaving. We paid for our drinks and the garlic bread pizza which we consumed)
Derek finalized the transaction and continued to be completely arrogant throughout it.

Read moreWhat an absolute disappointment. We were the FIRST people to arrive for lunch and yet somehow ended up being the LAST to get our meals. Customers who arrived well after us had their food served before we even saw a plate.
We ordered two $47 sirloin steaks (one medium, one medium-well) and a kids meal. The steaks came out alone on huge plates with nothing but two sad, dehydrated-looking roast tomatoes. No sides. Sides had to be ordered separately – roast potatoes, broccolini, and chips – which just added to the bill. For a place trading on the Angas name, you’d expect a half-decent steak. Instead, both were a disaster.
My partner’s steak was burnt on the outside but RAW in the middle. He couldn’t eat half of it and left it untouched for staff to see. Mine was basically raw too – I ended up taking it home to finish cooking myself! This is not “medium” or “medium-well” by any standard. For $47 a steak, this is laughable.
We raised the issue and, after paying a total of $180 for two steaks, sides, a kids meal, and a few drinks, the restaurant “kindly” took $30 off. Honestly, that was an insult more than anything. The fact that this is our second bad experience here (the last time our order was also wrong, but we didn’t complain) just seals the deal – NEVER again.
To put it bluntly, whatever your chef is doing in the kitchen, it isn’t cooking. It’s careless, sloppy, and downright unacceptable. Angas & Co needs a serious wake-up call – because right now, the food and service are not even close to the standard the name suggests.
Extremely disappointed, frustrated, and...
Read moreOnly ate here due to our accomodation being at the Weintal. Sad part is we won’t be returning to the awesome accomodation again in the fear of seeing this establishment again. Online booking was made 4 hours before we arrived, just to find out they didn’t have our booking. Short wait at the bar, no drinks menu available though. After being seated, no table service for food or drinks at all. Menu was different to the online menu that got us excited, was smaller, more expensive and you’ll find more options at a pub. The drinks menu didn’t even align to their tap selection either. Starter was prompt but may be the worst garlic bread/pizza we’ve ever had, somehow burnt and no taste. Took 45 minutes for this dish to be taken after we finished it also. Mains took 90 minutes to arrive, “lamb shanks” was a single shank with minimum meat. Think they must have missed the fact the menu states it was “shanks” and that one shank couldn’t fill a toddler up (more meat on a McDonald’s quarter ponder). My partners steak was good (you’d hope so for the steak house price) however we were convinced the gravy was just brown water, horrible and not used (was extra $ also). By far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had and for the price range that’s extremely frustrating. Made two complaints to the lovely staff, management did not come and see us however. No explanations, no care and no compensation. Wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to dine here, do yourself a favour and visit the servo across the road. Happy...
