Ferns Cafe & Bistro — Restaurant in Tasmania

Lovely cafe surrounds and the children’s games/activities were a real bonus. Food was yum. What let the place down was service.

Our order wasn’t complicated, 3x one type of burger, 3x another, 3x the same smoothie, 2x lemonades and a beer. Got the lemonades straight away, great. Smoothies took a while, one cam out, a gap, and then the other two. Burgers were a bit haphazard in coming out. Had to ask for the beer when that person’s order arrived. I had almost finished my burger when I realised the 6th hadn’t arrived. Went to the kitchen to ask for it, turns out it had been delivered to a table outside. Then ensued a screaming match between the kitchen / wait staff that could be heard in the dining area.

We got the 6th burger with lots of extra chips, gratefully received.

Wasn’t much open on a Sunday afternoon, so we were glad to see somewhere open! We had coffee (oat latte) and a scone - both were very nice (strong and warm respectively). The people next to us had the Sunday roast and it looked great. There were also toasties and other meals available. Clearly a family run operation. We enjoyed our meal and the cafe area was clean...

Pop this little Cafe on your to do list when driving through scottsdale, the food is amazing and nice workers and the cafe looks amazing, well done to the owner for doing it up.....
