Have eaten here MANY times...& will keep going back. A true 'treasure' at Beaconsfield in the Tamar Valley, Tasmania. Family owned & operated. Mum, Lucinda, does front of house and sons Aaron and Caleb man the kitchen..but all 3 work together seamlessly. They are all passionate 'foodies' and the range & diversity of the foods they prepare are a testament to their passion. They are open Sun (0730-1400) & Mon-Fri (0630-1400) CLOSED ON SATURDAY. As well as these regular hours, they have Night Sessions (a la carte) on Mon-Wed nights, 1730-2000...bookings recommended & one week a month (on Wed & Fri) they hold a Food World Tour (June was Wales)...with food from a different country each month...Check them out on FB for more details. Photos below are SOME of the dishes I've had there. Can't recommend them highly enough.Have recently enjoyed (NOT at one visit 😊!) Gnocchi Fritti with Caponata & Toasted Almonds; Glamorgan Sausage; Trout with Fennel sauce; Bacon & cabbage with beer & smokey bacon; Welsh Cakes with Rhubarb Jam, whipped cream & almonds; Blackberry sorbet They also have Bakery days....LOADS of delicious cakes, slices & biscuits to choose from. If you have visited yet...make a date to go there. You won't regret it. And they're now BYO.

Just for a coffee ☕️, we drove an hour 🚗 through winding mountain roads. I got a bit car sick 🤢 (I’m prone to it, so don’t blame me! 😅). We left at 7am while it was still dark , but soon, magical mist curled through the mountains, and the shy pink sky greeted us good morning 🌄. The fog made driving a little scary , so arriving at the little town was a huge relief — no more nausea! 🙌 Finally, I reached Moon Lily Café 🌙🌼. I kid you not, even sitting in the car , I could feel the warm glow of the cosy lights shining through the window 💛. Opening the door was like stepping into a treasure **beautiful artworks 🎨, and glass cabinets full of cakes and sweets 🍰🧁. The café is spacious and comfy 🪟 with lovely views . The friendly staff greeted us with warm smiles , which made the visit even more special 🥰. The coffee cup was HUGE **almost like a little pot ☕️🫕 — and the Big Breakfast 🍳🍞 was delicious and satisfying . You could taste the love in every bite ❤️. I didn’t get to try their homemade bacon this time, but I’ve heard it’s a must! Definitely a reason to return . Thanks to this charming café for a warm and happy Sunday start ☀️. Highly recommend for great coffee, good food, and lovely service! 🌟

Really nice cafe that you dont expect in the middle of small country town. Menu was also surprising, with lots of unique ingredients and dishes. Tried the chicken meatballs and my husband tried their pork steak. Both came with beautiful presentation. Although I have to say the meatballs were a bit boring for me, I struggled to finish them. It came with a chutney but so overall it was a bit sweet, not as savoury as I expected. Also maybe a bit dry, like even with chutney, I feel it needs something on the side to make it less dry and boring. The pork was beautiful and juicy. We then had their cake that was freshly baked and it was heaven. The bottom bit was caramelised and chewy, one of the best cake I have had, just really really nice. Staff are friendly, and they are passionate about foods. Nutella hot chocolate was ok, just have to make sure you stir it a lot since the nutella just sits at the bottom of the cup. I think overall very lovely cafe and atmosphere. Savouries could be better but the cake was amazing.
