Updates based on response from cafe:
No - there was no "full refund" on the Nasi Goreng served and we don't want it either. Replacement meal (only 1 not 2) was provided. We left without eating this.
No - there was not even a single word - "Sorry" mentioned by the waitress. My wife mentioned that we don't eat bacon and menu doesn't say bacon. Response was "It is bacon!". "Quite apologetic" is an overstatement.
Nasi Goreng as a traditional Indonesian dish has no pork or bacon in it. Neither was this mentioned in the menu and there was no chicken in it. Hence there is no reason for us to bring up our preferences / allergies while placing the order. Glad that you are making changes to the menu. Negatives Ordered 1 Fish and chips and 2 BBQ chicken Nasi Goreng Took just past 30 mins to get the food, which was ok for us at that time considering it was busy Chicken was replaced with bacon (both of us cannot eat bacon - for one of us as per medical advice). This was a major health risk! Could have been disastrous. a simple apology would go a long way in such cases - there was no such courtesy. One of us chose to accept the offer to replace 1 of the 2 plates with fish n chips. couldn't eat the replacement order as well after this experience. 2 of the 3 ended up leaving the place hungry with most of the other places in the vicinity closed...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill... Not sure whether it's got a new management or something but it's gone bad. Two years ago it was ok. Visited this place twice in since NYE, each time we had issues with food and service. First time we ordered two different meals for brekky, Eggs Benny and Spinach with poached eggs... They brought only one plate with spinach on the Eggs Benny plus extra eggs on too..
Second time around, I ordered Eggs Benny again, I was served two white toasts with eggs and bacon...
Returned the plate asking for my Eggs Benny, as there was no Hollandaise sauce at all and bread wasn't sourdough as the menu states ... The waitress apologised, took the plate back in the kitchen. Came back with the same plate, same white toasts but Hollandaise sauce on it now, however the sauce was icy cold .. I asked where is my sourdough? The girl asked me if I asked for Sourdough at the counter? Why should I? The menu clearly states SOURDOUGH... She Apologies again and took the plate back again.. came back, saying they are out of Sourdough...
Will not bother giving them another go... There are better places...
