I'd rate it more 2.5 than 2 but not 3. Lovely, friendly staff who I would rate higher but sadly the food did not meet the expectations I'd built up based on the reviews I'd read. I really wanted to like my meal but I personally found the flavours of my entrée and main confused and/or heavy-handed. It certainly wasn't inedible, just not as enjoyable as it could have been. It was very kind to be offered a complimentary dessert when it had been observed that I'd left a fair bit of the saffron risotto on my plate (I'd found the saffron far too over-powering). A little of that shine was taken off when the waitress later returned to say that another customer had the dish and LOVED the risotto and that the waitress had tried the risotto herself and felt the flavour was fine! With plenty of alcohol on offer and a busy, buzzing atmosphere, at least others seemed to have been having a lovely night.

Lovely ambiance, mixed food experience Visited with my daughter as part of our culinary journey. While the waitress was initially unwelcoming (asking about a booking and saying no tables were available), the manager was kind and seated us promptly — much appreciated. The atmosphere is lovely: relaxing music, perfect temperature, great for conversation. The ceviche was fresh but lacked lemon and salt. Prawns were tasty but too few (only three). The steak was excellent — highly recommended. Desserts were a big disappointment: bland and flavorless. Final bill was $284 — pricey, but the ambiance adds value. My daughter gave 3 stars, I’m giving 4 for the service and setting. Thank you Bella &Victoria 👩‍🍳

Excellent location, friendly and experienced staff and delicious food. Menu has enough variety without getting lost in the options, excellent wine and drinks list. Service is quick and despite the COVID19 restrictions limiting seating times, the staff don't make you feel rushed. Only downside is getting a reservation! Phone line often calls out (or you leave a message but it's rarely followed up). I assume this speaks volumes for just how popular this restaurant has become - if you're in Terrigal it's easier to pop in and make a reservation in person but don't expect it to be for a few weeks if you're after a weekend dinner booking. Weekday bookings are much easier to secure with minimal notice.

I’m on a low carb diet (and was a chef for 11 years) and this place was awesome…. Great selection, clean fresh food, amazing waiting staff, happy, friendly and not overbearing…. Seated us in 5 minutes on a busy Sunday afternoon…. I cannot rate the experience highly enough… my son loved the food, my wife loved the food and cocktails….. the tastes were rich or mild based upon the dish, the oils were a very nice mix and very fresh, the slow cooked lamb was better than I have ever had anywhere…. Can’t rate the staff highly enough either

Edit…. Went back again today for a business lunch and again was absolutely impressed with the food quality and service. The chefs take pride in their cooking and presentation and serve fantastic meals. If I have one complaint it is only (I really want to try the zucchini flowers but understand the weather would make them impossible to get) and the kingfish is not currently on the menu, they have another costed fish dish but was not available today either… they could use a coral trout or similar for the fish and it would be incredible….. but it is now going to be a regular restaurant for my family and business colleagues…. Can’t rate them...

Owner-operated is always the best.

Literally just finished my meal and can't wait to rave about this gem of a restaurant.

Ambience: unlike the over priced restaurateurs in Sydney that try to compensate for sub-par food by playing extremely loud music with bass and presenting themselves as a night-club, Arc plays music that suits the ambience of a relaxed, beach-side eatery. Comfortable, chilled, setting the tone for an unaffected meal where the focus is all on the food.

We were seated outside as Arc is always booked full. It's a Thursday night! Food, service, music was so good that we didn't care.

We opted for the set dinner menu, 3 courses. $65/person.

We had the oysters, zucchini flowers entré, pork belly, risotto, creme brulee.

Impeccable.

You know when something is great when the owners work at the restaurant, have years of training at Sydney restaurants, bring passion and soul and excellent staff with them. And the locals support this place with loyalty and love.

Thank you to Jasmine for the excellent service. Thanks to Scott, wife and team for a stellar meal.

Can't wait to try this...

Went here for a celebratory post-COVID lockdown meal. Service was excellent, layout and social distancing and Covid protocols were followed reassuringly. Food was of a high standard - although the 2 cocktails we had as aperitifs were extremely weak and we both struggled to taste any alcohol; tasted like mocktails for a hefty $20 each. Furthermore, overall positive experience was marred when we received the bill - $10 for a carafe of sparkling table water ?? Not branded table water, just poured into a carafe - tasted like tap water that had been put through a soda stream. I get that you are trying to claw back losses of being closed so long during lock down and we are excited to bring you our custom - but don’t take the p*ss - our drinks bill (2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine and sparkling water for the table) came to $90!! More than the meal costed each -and we didn’t have a bottle of wine we had a glass! As a result, our evening at this establishment ended with a feeling of being ripped off. Take it easy, Arc, this is Terrigal not...
