Hoi An Terrigal is a great local spot worth checking out. We decided to try their Easter Specials, which are available until April 27th.

We started our dinner with the Mama’s Rolls. I love a spring roll; these were everything a good one should be—crispy, flavourful, and generously filled. The Pho Cuon (lemongrass beef wrapped in steamed rice paper) isn’t something I’d usually choose, but it was a standout - I was pleasantly surprised - fresh, light, and surprisingly moreish. The trio of baos were good — my pick was the pulled pork with coconut hoisin.

For mains, we tried the Easter Specials. The sizzling steak was well-cooked and full of flavour, the shaking beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a nice garlic balance, and the crispy egg noodles with seafood were nicely done—plenty of texture and generous portion sizes. We also tried their deconstructed Bahn Mi, which we all devoured. It was really good and something I will order again.

Drinks-wise, the Saigon Mojito and Hanoi Iced Tea were refreshing, but the Vietnamese Iced Coffee Martini was my clear winner. I’d go back just for that.

In addition to the flavourful food, what stood out was the service. Friendly, thoughtful, and well-paced throughout the night. The staff were helpful without hovering, and everything felt genuinely welcoming.

Overall, it was a really lovely meal in a relaxed setting with excellent service. A place...

In response to your reply to my review. I would like to clarify that you have not been honest in your response to my review...... Every Vietnamese restaurant I have ever visited both here and in Vietnam use vegan fish sauce, when advertising vegan foods, not soy sauce with carrot, that was a first for me. It was NOT my request to swap the spring rolls for the tofu, I asked for no tofu when I ordered, the lovely counter staff came out and asked me whilst I was waiting and enjoying my iced coffee "if I would like an extra spring roll in place of the tofu." You say "I should have asked the team for extra Asian herbs," there was not ONE Asian herb in the dish and I've never had to ask for Asian herbs, let alone ask for extra asian herbs in any Vietnamese restaurant, it was unfortunate I didn't notice there was none, until I opened it at home, vermicelli salad always come Asian herbs in the dish, what was with the long thin slices of dried out celery ? Very traditional. And as for the peanuts and not putting them in the vermicelli salad for my safety 🥴 when the counter staff asked me "if I had any allergies whilst serving me I replied "NO". You appear to get very defensive with any review you don't like, when one gives their opinion. Lovely little restaurant, had a beautiful Hoi An feel, but that's as...

Just not that great. Can add detail on the dishes but overall summary: We had the Faifoo Banquet for 4, Asian Greens and Mama's Rolls. Some dishes were not as described or not particularly tasty or fresh tasting which wasn't great as the basis of this banquet is seafood. Even the Jasmine Rice was dried out on the top like it had been dished and left standing for a while. All in all, the best dish was the Black Sticky Rice at the end (ice, ripe mango and some black rice — good stuff) but this was ~10 dishes in so too little too late. Had the option of Tea or Coffee with the dessert and when we all ordered coffee the response was there wasn't enough time to make them so could we opt for tea instead. In the end they gave a refund of $20.00 as we weren't interested in tea. For me - wouldn't go again unless it was just for a quick rice dessert. For others - if you do go order specific dishes rather than the banquet menu and hopefully you'll have more luck. Serving staff were friendly but seemed very busy so it was a bit slow. Enjoyed the atmosphere on the upper balcony — open air, good vibes. (Not the usual area of review but were bathrooms pretty poor, no hand soap is always a...

If you are on the central coast and feel like a bowl of pho and don’t feel Ike a drive into Cabramatta or Bankstown, this place is the closest you will get. The location is right in the heart of Terrigal with a great balcony. The restaurant is upstairs with no street frontage and a dated stereotypical fitout. looks like a 70 year old Aussie with memories of his time in Asia was responsible for the design and decor. Would be appealing to the same cohort. I can only comment on the rare beef pho. The flavour was far from authentic and lacked the standard ingredients that you would find throughout Sydney’s Vietnamese restaurants. Staff are friendly and welcoming and are obviously trying. I would suggest simplifying a very complex menu and focus on a few dishes and do them well.

I don’t even know where to start... Had three dishes. I ordered “Pho Xao/ Stir Fry Rice Noodles” and I received Pad See Ew. The noodles were cooked well but it was doused in a very salty sauce. The “Pad Thai” noodles were mushy and wet, and the tofu was hard. Overall, bland. The vermicelli in the “Bun Thit Xao” tasted like they were left overnight and microwaved. The meat in Pad Thai and the Bun Thit Xao felt like they were made from the same batch. All the dishes were completely underwhelming and not worth the price of $57. TLDR-come if you want subpar Thai food/ don’t come if you’re looking for traditional Vietnamese food.
